Greetings -- My name is Pris M. Phillips and, as of July 31, 2001, I am the retired Warden of State Park Correctional Center in State Park, South Carolina. State Park is actually located in Richland County, just outside of Columbia. The average population of 400 female, minimum custody inmates work at the facility, are on Labor Crews, Work Release, are in the Addictions Treatment Unit or are in the Pre-Release Program. You may have seen some of the women picking up litter along the Highways and Bi-WaysBusy Bar, mostly on I-20 and I-277.

My prior assignment was as the Associate Warden at the former Reception and Evaluation Center at Broad River Correctional Institution. It housed regional intake, regional lockup and Statewide Death Row. This was a much more pleasant assignment :-)

When I was first employed with the South Carolina Department of Corrections in 1972, I said I would stay until I found something better ~ and now I have ~ it's called RETIREMENT !
