Welcome!

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I'm going to take you on an exciting journey through the world of Hamlet. If you're here, you've probably just finished reading the book and need some information or helpful hints for a paper. Well, I'm happy to tell you that you've found the right place! Hopefully you will find this page useful and maybe even somewhat entertaining as the story of Hamlet unfolds for you. Actually, to tell you the truth, I really didn't like Hamlet until about half-way through the play. Maybe it was too many late nights of reading, or maybe it was the fact that Liz and I spent two weeks arguing the sanity of Hamlet with the rest of our class. He was sane through the entire play, and if you don't believe me, you might as well leave now. Just kidding, don't go. My point is that this really isn't the most interesting play until you completely emmerse yourself in it. So go for it, get "Hamlet crazy"! Our class had the opportunity to do a lot of creative things with this play. We each memorized a scene and dressed up and acted it out for our class. Sarah and I did the scene where Ophelia and Hamlet converse while Claudius and Polonius listen. It was VERY entertaining. We dressed up in 70's clothes (I was in Joel's pants!) and I got to beat up, yell at, and throw a chair at our very own class whiner, Sarah (who by the way is analyzing As I Lay Dying, by William Faulkner. She actually liked that book - go figure!). All of this was set to "Stayin' Alive" by the BeeGees. I have never laughed so hard in my entire life. One of the best things about this novel, however are the many ways things can be interpreted. Our class spent days arguing the sanity of Hamlet. Somehow, all conversations seemed to lead to the "Is Hamlet mad?" question. I must say, though, that Liz and I probably would have won our arguement, had the class been left to a free-for-all (we are probably the loudest and most stubborn in that class). Anyways, I should probably let you enjoy the rest of my wonderful web page. I hope you find what you're looking for, and if you don't, I hope I at least entertained you for a while!!
