This is the water hole at the start of Poughkeepsie. Just before this
photo was taken, the water was over my hood!
This is the "Wall" on Poughkeepsie. It was impassable this day. You
needed a lot of lift just to approach it. The first shot is Dave Nay giving
it a valiant effort, the second shot is Mil (GRNT) also giving it all he
had.
After the "Wall" this was the second most difficult obstacle. In the first
photo, Bones is attempting to make it up a spot he had made previously.
This day however only 3 Jeeps made it up that spot, Mil (GRNT), Scott Mac,
and me. You can see below, the price I paid. In the second photo, you can
see me on the spot Bones was on and Dave Nay on another section. I strapped
Dave up, but he did attempt a difficult line.
Here they are changing Scott Mac's flat in the rain and hail. We were
on a clean easy section of the trail and Scott got a sidewall tear. Some
think it was fate because on our way back to town there was a rock slid
that blocked the road. If we had not stopped to fix this flat, and the
flat on a sedan driven by an old man, we may have been under the rock slide.
In summary, we had a great time with a great bunch of people. We made knew friendships that we know will last a life time. We look forward to FF00. We don't know where it will be, yet, but we know it will be with some great people. Maybe we'll see you there?
