Yesterday and Tomorrow

That you were here with me

Smiling and laughing and teasing

Eyes twinkling like stars in the sea

But you've gone to a better place now

Where there is no sadness or pain

Because Jesus died on the cross for us

And you taught me to love without shame

And now you're with our Savior

And I know that you are free

But I long to hold you oh so close

And to see you smile at me

One day I'll see that twinkle

And you'll run and jump with me

And we'll both rejoice together

That our Lord has set us free

So thank you precious Jesus

For dying on the cross that day

The blood you shed to save us

Gave each of us the Way
