Johnny Whitworth

BIOGRAPHY

Johnny Whitworth was born on October 31, 1975 in Charleston, South Carolina; to Johnny Whitworth Sr. and Diane Shipley. When Johnny was a young child his parents got divorced and his father relocated to Dallas, Texas, where Johnny would also spend a good portion of his youth. By age 15, Johnny knew he wanted to become an actor. At age 16, a close girlfriend submitted him into the Young and Modern Man modeling contest (hosted by YM magazine) in which he beat out thousands of applicants across the U.S. and won. He was featured in a huge spread of YM magazine and this was to be his first public interview. By age 18, with striking looks, charming personality, and astounding charisma, Johnny relocated once again with his mother to Los Angeles and is rumored to have graduated from Beverly Hills HighSchool. Once there, in 1994, he did a few small acting gigs and landed the lead guest star of the new series, "Party of Five." Not liking the TV atmosphere, Johnny quit "Po5" after just two episodes. 1995 brought his first film feature, "Bye Bye Love" where he stole heart's as Eliza Dushku's crush, and the cult smash "Empire Records" in where he scored most of his fans as AJ, a record store clerk in love with Liv Tyler. Unfortunately, "Empire" didn't become a hit until after it exited theaters and Johnny got disillusioned by Hollywood, quitting for two years! That's almost a decade in Hollywood year's! Johnny finally cameback in 1997's critically acclaimed, "The Rainmaker" where he portrayed a young man dying of Cancer. The critics adored Johnny and have ever since, even if they hated his films. The rest is history. With nearly twenty movies behind him, and numerouos guest appearances, Johnny will next be seen in the comedy, "Kiss the Bride" {2003} which is getting rave reviews!
