Tracy   Bonham,a   star   of   grrrl   rock!!

In the conservative community of Eugene,in Oregon,it wasn't strange that if a person showed their a affition in music, their destiny was a piano, flute or a choir.Tracy Bonham fell in love with a violin she found at her house. Very soon, her mother(a music teacher)offered her a range of possibilities, from scout songs,to pop music,so she could define her music style.Tracy would not pass 4 or more hours in a room playing the same song again and again, she wanted to write her own songs, sing them and then play them. "When you tell that you like the violin, people thinks of it in a symphony."says Tracy. To find more music possibilities for her violin and herself, she moved to Boston.

Mother Mother, song that in the last months has showed Tracy's power around the world, was written four years ago,and with that song, she visited many pubs playing and looking for stable musicians to help her with her music. Then, she found Drew Parsons(a very very good bassist) and Shayne Phillips(the drummer). Her last and I think first album "The Burdens of Being Upright",is build up with active guitars,a constant acceleration(notice Mother Mother and The One) and some spaces more melodic(One Hit Wonder and Tell it to The Sky)that gives the necessary breath to her album.Tracy's real mother appears at her video of Mother Mother and her song Kisses was written thinking in the couple Kurt Cobain-Courtney Love. The Burdens Of... has twelve songs and they are build perfectly using Tracy Bonham's classical music knowledge. Her album shows Hard Rock aspects and I recommend you to buy buy it *hahaha*. Many people compare Tracy with Alanis Morrisette, but as she says "The only think similar between us is the hair colour".
