A haunting human voice spoke, a voice from a man who was no longer of this universe. As the sounds came, the words filled the screen.

September 8th - Mission day 6

Well, it seems I might have been a bit harsh, the lawyer is settling in ok. Despite the fact we only have a couple of days before sleep, the crew seem in good spirits. Ms Dickson appears to be quite popular, perhaps she has one of these personalities that you can't help but like. I don't know, but it seems only I am resistant to her charms. I have decided, though, that the limited access is unfair, and so am giving her clearance alligned with Jenkins, Statistics officer, they might as well have equal standing considering they'll have to do the same job, eventually.

She does seem to have formed a good friendship with Keelan, perhaps I am reading more into it than I should but they do seem somewhat of an item.

Along a more mundane and tedious path we have just reached one fifth of our hoped for velocity. Which I am assured by Keelan is as to be expected. My rough calculations have to agree with him. Also contact with Earth is good. We have been receiving regular broadcasts from the satellites. They have kept the crew entertained so far. It is lucky that sleep is just around the corner. Otherwise, despite the high-quality of entertainment we have been getting and the on-board pursuits, we would all, I'm sure, go quite mad.

[Pause]

On a more personal note I have noticed that there also seems to be bond between Simon and Charlotte, it seems stronger than Keelan and Jayne, perhaps it's me, I don't know. I never was very adept at spotting these kind of things. However if I have noticed it they can't have been that discrete.

But to be honest it's none of my business.

There was a bit of laughter at Klein honesty. Saying he was not 'very adept at spotting these kind of things' had to be the understatement of the year. Simon and Charlotte had, after all, been acting virtually like man and wife ever since they boarded and their romance before departure hadn't exactly been kept secret.

As for Keelan and Jayne, he was just imagining it. Perhaps he only saw what he believed.

But despite all this time was pressing and they hurriedly chose where to go next.
