I like karate. I enjoy the work outs, the confidence it gives me, and the training for the reflexes I need against my soul brothers. I enjoy the forms and katas because it is like meditation. To go over it slow, is relaxing. It is improving something you have learned at the pace you want. To add power, is a feeling of accomplishment and a release of stress should the need arise. To add speed is the greatest reward of all. Having the form, power, and timing come together with speed provides a fascinating adrenaline high and a sense of pride. Thank you, thank you very much.
Poetry has been a big part of my life throughout high school. It has given me a vent when I am angry, hurt, happy, or inspired. It has helped me sort things out. I write down my thoughts and they are my reference when I need to sort things out. My poetry is usually long and complex but here are some samples of the short ones I do from time to time.
I like to collect foreign money. I have been to France, England, and Ireland. I have collected many coins from these countries. I even have a few English shillings. I have coins from many different, pretty soon I will need a bigger book to store them in. The note below is a Turkish lire.
I love to rollerblade. Unfortunately I live on a steep hill. Once I get down this hill there are many places that I can go rollerblading.
I love Japanese Animation. I have the Devil Hunter Yohko series, The Ranma 1/2 movies, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Black Magic M-66, The Bubble Gum Crash and Crisis series, Macross Plus the movie, Ninja Scroll and Black Jack - Surgeon with the Hands of a God. I took history 201 this semester which studies B.C.E., C.E. and early A.D. civilizations. The more I read translated documents from these time periods, the more I realize how much mythology is entertwined into these animated movies. For example, the main character of Macross Plus the movie is named Ishtar and she is a Marduke Priestess. The Marduke alien race controls the violent Zentrotti alien race through songs of war and death. Together they anihilate other planets and races. In a space fight with earth, Ishtar's ship is damaged and she is captured and taken to earth. There she learns about songs of love and returns to her people to try and teach them that there is more to life then death and war. In ancient Mesopotamia, Ishtar is the Goddess if fertility, love, and death. She is also the Godess of choice for the King's anual hierogomy ceremony.
