The marriage of Mr. John C. Hanna Maxwell, of Buffalo Village, and Miss Mary Hannah Snodgrass, took place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snodgrass at noon Thursday, November 20, 1902. The wedding was a prettily appointed event, pink and white in color effects. The high standing of the contracting parties, too, made it a notable social event. The spacious parlor was tastefully trimmed with pretty fall flowers and ferns, while in the roomy bay window hung a beautiful floral bell, beneath which the principals took their places to the strains of the wedding march charmingly rendered by Miss Jessie Drake, of Massillon, Ohio. The bride was attired in a handsome gown of paue de soine and carried white roses. The attendants were Mr. James Maxwell, and the bride's sister, Miss Ellen Snodgrass, who wore a pretty pink crepe costume and carried pink roses, while. The ribbon girls, little Misses Ruth Ely and Lois Ferguson, were dressed in pink and white. The ceremony was performed by the bride's pastor, Rev. R.B. Harsha, of this place, assisted by Rev. Calvin Ely, formerly of Xenia, 0., and Rev. Montrose Maxwell, of Birmingham, Mich., cousin of the groom. Four score guests surrounded the festal board, a Washington caterer assisting in its preparation. A fine collection of gifts were received. Among those from a distance were Mrs. Frank Drake and daughter Miss Jessie of Massillon, 0; James McClurg, (torn, missing words) Mrs. Neil Ferguson and children (torn, missing words)___urg, Ind; Rev. and Mrs. Montrose (torn, missing words) of Birmingham, Mich; Misses Nettie (torn, missing words) _live Moninger, Lone Pine, besides (torn, missing words) ___om Washington, Buffalo Village, (torn, missing words, West Alexander and surrounding community. Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell left (torn, missing words) the 4:29pm. train for an eastern trip.
