Records do establish that Robert Foster emigrated from Ireland to the colonies about 1770. It is believed he was born south of Belfast near the border between counties Armagh and Monghan, Ulster. Robert married Margaret and initally they resided around Harrisburg, PA, where their first two children where born. In the fall of 1793, they floated down the Ohio river to Mason Co., KY. Robert and Margaret along with five young children were among the early pioneer settlers of Adams Co., OH arriving in the fall of 1797.
