Thanks for stopping by and visiting
myhome on the web.Let me tell you a
little bit about myself.
I am blessed to be married to my
best friend & the love of my life.
Howard is a member of the
United States Air Force.
You might want to check out my
USAF Spouse Page.
It contains over 100 useful www
links for Military Families,
especially USAF Families.
God has blessed us with a beautiful
with one child. Her real name is
Katherine Elizabeth. But we prefer
to call her Katie Beth or Katie Bug.
Which name we use depends on what
she is doing at that particular time.
My mother and father raised me
with strong Family Values.
You might say I am old fashioned,
because I share the same value
system with my family that my
parents taught me. I am an adopted
child and I thank the Lord every
day for my parents. They will
always be my real parents to me.
I have no desire to meet the
person that had me, nor the sperm
doner. You may feel my comments
are disrespecful but it is not
intended that way. I could find
no better word to discribe them.
Neither have earned the right
to be called my parents. Just becasue
you give birth to a child does
not make you a mother. The same
holds true for the man. One night
of passion doesn't make you a daddy.
You must earn the right to be called
Mother & Father. My parents earned
the right to be called Mom & Dad.
My decision not to search & my
feelings about the people that
caused me to be born are my feelings
and opinions. My parents did not sway
my feelings one way or another
on this issue. The greatest loss in
my life to date was May 2, 1993
the day my mama went home to be
with the Lord. I miss her so very
much, she was a very special lady
to me. When she passed away; I not
only lost the only mother I've ever
known but I lost my very best friend.
My mama's pearls of wisdom on adoption:
God meant for you to be our daughter.
Adopted children always know they are wanted.
Blood isn't thicker than water!
Love is...
Please visit my Memorial Page to her.
My parents raised me to have a great
faith in God. I don't just believe
in miracles I rely on them!
I am a stay~at~home mom. I believe
with all of my heart that this is
the most important job in the world.
There was a time in my life I thought
I would like to work instead of staying
at home. On April 19, 1995 my world was
forever changed when the Alfred P. Murrah
Federal Building was bombed. My home is
only 5 miles away from where the
Federal Buildingonce stood. The
home we own is also the home where I
grew up in. No one can truly understand
how we Okie's feel, unless you were
raised here, and were in Oklahoma City
that day. Howard was a rescue worker
at the bomb site. I don't want to discuss
the details about what he experienced
at the rescue operation. The details
are still to hard to discuss.
In May of 1997 I was one of only
2 Volunteer Therapy Dog Handler's
that went to the "Bomb Site" after
the McVeigh verdict was handed down in
Denver, Colorado. It was an experience
that I will never forget. I find it hard
to put into words the emotions that
were felt when the trial was over.
We celebrated becasue JUSTICE had
been served and our loved one could
finally rest in peace. We will heal
and go on; but we will never forget.
