Releasing Anger

A ritual for releasing anger



Most forms of abuse result in powerful feelings of anger or rage, which must be expressed in a safe positive fashion if it is not to either destroy you or others. For this ritual you will need some quiet time, a red candle, white or black candle, paper and pen, a container in which you can burn the paper in, matches. Any other symbols or magical gear you wish to bring to the ritual are yours to choose. After setting up, your going to want to cast a circle to protect yourself and others from the energy you plan on releasing.

Face East and call upon the Air to help you express you rage clearly, to help you focus mentally while you release your emotions safely within the circle.

Face South and call upon fire to help your rage burn up and out of you, burn away the past and the trauma that has enraged you.

Face West and call upon water to help your emotions flow freely within the circle, cleansing your spirit and restoring yourself.

Face North and call upon the earth to allow yourself to safely ground your rage and try to sustain and support you through the releasing process.

As you call in the direction visualize a circle of white light forming around your work space, shielding you and protecting you with the elements you called in. Then when you feel the circle is secure, call upon the higher powers in what ever form you relate to them to work with you and shield you through the course of the ritual.

Now light the red candle, by it's light write or draw what ever enraged you. Hold the paper between your hands, focus your awareness on the red candle and begin to chant, shout, scream or what ever sounds help you to feel the rage come up and out and send the rage into the candle. Watch the flame burn brighter and hotter as the force or you anger fuels it. When you feel you have released the red rage. Light the paper and drop in into the container so it can burn out. After the paper has burnt out light the second candle and focuse what you would like to replace the rage within. Let the energy of the new emotion fill you up, write or draw those you would like to find.

When you are calm again, release the circle and thank the elements and higher power.
