Description
A tender creeping perennial from the tropics which can grow to 3-4ft high. Rarely, it will produce fragrant, sterile flowers, white with purple streaks in colour. Its leaves are long and narrow to lance shaped. Turgid stems appear annually. The tuberous roots are thick, aromatic, fibrous and knotted.

Cultivation
Site: Requires a tropical climate - high humidity and partial shade. Prefers rich, well-drained loam.
Propagation: Root cuttings.
General Care: Keep temperature and humidity stable.
Harvest:Root.

Preserve: Young green rooots in syrup. Infuse root.
