KW: Main
Dolphins are part of the cetacean family and are the smallest of the small toothed whales. The average dolphin will usually grow to the length of 6 feet. There are however, about 50 varieties of dolphins, including the Orca, also known as the Killer Whale. Orcas are the largest of the dolphins. The most common misconception is naming dolphins of the fish family. They are not fish, they are air breathing mammals. For more infomation, go to my Dolphin Information Page.
Hundreds of dolphins die each day from pollution, drift nets, and from the tuna fishing industry. The fishermen will fallow schools of dolphins which sometimes travel over schools of tuna. When they encircle both the dolphins and the tuna with their nets, the dolphins are trapped and will die with the tuna. They have some nets that are supposedly "dolphin safe" but they too kill thousands of dolphins annually. Dolphins have also been hunted for food. When you go into a restaurant and you see "dolphin" as one of the meals, don't think that the dolphin they are serving are anything like the ones I have based this site on. They are serving a dolphin fish (which I don't think is the tastiest creature...they are ugly too).
I hope you enjoy and you are now ready
to enter the plexus...
...almost...
First, I would like you to look at the ribbon placed below. This ribbon shows that I am against the slaughtering of the Gray Whales done by the Makah. I don't know too much info on the ritual of the Makah but when I heard about it, and was given a site address to go see a picture of what they do, that was enough to say things have got to change. This site may not be dedicated to Gray Whales but I am a dolphin lover, which puts me in the whale lover category as well. Dolphins are just my favorite species of the whales. I show this ribbon to let all know that I am against the slaughtering.
Now...you are ready to continue the journey and enter the plexus. *s*
