Joanna Russell has a lot of secrets. A lot of reasons to stear clear of Alex Cameron, a man she shared one night of passion with and who has now come back into her life.

Alexei Cameron has never been able to forget the woman he briefly knew as Annie Smith all those years ago. Now that he has run into her again, he has no intention of letting her go.

Together, whether she likes it or not, they are going to deal with a past that is coming back to haunt them both, a past that threatens to destroy Joanna's fragile sense of security.

This is the first book I have read in the Draycott Abbey series, and now I can't wait to read them all. The build up of tension - sexual and otherwise - is marvelous and keeps you going to the very end. Joanna is a quirky heroine we can all have compassion for, and Alexei is strong, protective, and possesses the gypsy talent of mind reading. The ghosts will charm you. The mystery of the sword will haunt you. You'll learn a little bit of history. But most of all, you will be sucked into a magical romance between two people who have wasted too much time apart.
