Now let's take a look at recovery......it too is a process, it takes a person that has the desire to get healthy about eighteen months to two years to achieve a healthy recovery program. Sound scary, well we are looking at a deadly disease, that if not put into remission can very well be fatal. One has to stop their use of ALL mood altering chemicals, attend 12 step programs and work on lifestyle changes to be able to achieve this. It starts with wanting to, and allowing yourself to work a simple program, one day at a time. Stay focused in the here and now, what happened yesterday already belongs to the past. Remember addiction is a disease.....it is Not your fault! Keep it Simple.....take one day at a time, don't allow yourself to fall into a H.A.L.T. situation, i.e., don't let yourself get too hungry, angry, lonely or tired. This disease can be overcome and you can get your life back and once more take control of yourself. Getting into recovery is very spiritual, this is a spiritual program, it's about progress not perfection........think serenity, peace of mind....spirituality is the major part of what is about to take place, this is when I become okay with me....your life will start taking major steps in the change process. You will be at peace with yourself and those around you. Think this....if I am okay with me....now I can also be okay with you. Spirituality is about finding myself once again. Tranquility, peace of mind and serenity will have taken over. For starters try this: God.... Grant me the serenity To accept the things, I cannot change; Courage to change, The things I can; And the, Wisdom to know the difference. For more information or if you feel you may need some help, send me an e-mail, all replies will be strictly confidential.....you don't even have to tell your name. See you on the happy road to recovery........God Bless!
