Search Engines and Category Searches
- Looksmart (http://www.looksmart.com/)
only includes reviewed and authoritative sites in its categories. A
great place to research, just try the categories before typing in
key words!
- Google Advanced
Search (http://www.google.com/advanced_search) lets you refine
your search so you don't get 20,000 unrelated web pages to plow
through.
- Yahoo (http://www.yahoo.com/)
also has pretty good categories, and besides, it's what a lot of
people use.
- AltaVista (http://www.av.com/)
has keyword and category searching. Use the advanced search for
better results!
- Ask Jeeves (http://www.ask.com/)
lets you type in a question and it tries to find an answer.
- Dogpile (http://www.dogpile.com/)
will "fetch" results of your search from many different
search engines.
