Night has fallen over the Fairy Garden,as a small figure approaches.She is slight of frame,has a dark olive complexion,shining brunette hair and hazel eyes that glitter with mischief.She is not sure where she's going and has no fear of what she might meet strolling her in the dark garden.
Suddenly a light forms before her eyes,as she stares in amazement a small fairy appears."Have you lost your way little one?" The child giggles and hides her smile behind her hand.
"Oh,I see,"says the small faerie."You are just wandering about the garden looking for a playmate."
Again the child giggles,and says,"Play...I want to play."
The tiny faerie asks her,"And what be your name,little one?"
With a smile she says,"Cora."
The faerie gave a giggle herself and a low whistle.Lights began to appear as other faeries popped out of hiding.
The tiny faerie told them who the little girl was and that she wanted to play.All agreed and a lively game of hide and seek ensued.With giggles and laughter echoing through the night...they played and played until none of them could play any longer.Exhausted they all curled up together and fell asleep beneath the twinkling stars.
In the morning as the sun began to rise,Lady Darkmoon happened upon the sleeping child with the faeries curled around her.With a smile she,lifted the child in her arms.Cora mumbled sleepily,"Want to play." Then promptly fell asleep again.
The faeries who had been sleeping around the child awoke at the sound of Cora's voice."The child's Mother and I thank you for keeping watch over little Cora during the night."
The faeries grinned and told her it was their pleasure.She had been a fantastic playmate.
With a smile,Lady Darkmoon carried little Cora home to her parents,knowing the child had made friends that would be with her a lifetime.
