For this tutorial you will need Simple Filters.
Download them here:  Simple Filters
Download the bonus pack too.
Install the filters in your plugin directory.

 

Create a new graphic 300 x 300.
Background White, 16.7 million colors.

Select the flood fill tool.
Set the foreground color to white and the background color to #968FB1.
In the style box, select gradient as fill and use the following settings in the gradient dialogue box…



Don´t forget to set the gradient to Sunburst gradient and Repeats to 3 times.
Your image should now look like this:

Go to Effects/Plug-in filters/Simple and choose the Diamonds filter.
This filter will make your image look like this:



Go to Effects/Plug-in filters/Simple and choose the 4 way average filter.
Then go to Effects/Plug-in filters/Simple and choose Zoom out and flip.
Apply one or as many times you like to achieve different effects.
With Zoom out and flip applied one time the image will look like this:
