Hmmm, what is this unschooling anyway? Well, when some people think of homeschoolers, they think of children hunched over the dining room table from 9-11 AM, diligently writing in workbooks as mom teaches them. While this approach works for some, it isn't the same as unschooling.
Unschooling is a very relaxed form of homeschooling. Relaxed doesn't mean the family does nothing. Instead, the child gets to lead his or her learning. The parent acts as facilitator or resource person. Just as a toddler learns to walk and talk and do many other things without the parent giving "lessons," so an older child learns to read and use math in everyday life.
