CF #13: Dangling Future
Dangling Future: Part VI

"NO!! How is it possible?!?!" screamed McTorn, though he knew
he was at
his end.
The white and black light consumed McTorn and then exploded
into a dazzling display of light.
The psychics drop to there knees, drained. Except for
Zelda, who remained standing, staring bleakly at the bodies of her
friends.
The spirits of the Crystal-creating mages
flowed out of Zelda and escaped from the PhysicalWorld. The last one to disapear was a strangely familier woman with raven black hair, +That was a bit sloppy dear.+ Zelda heard, or thought she heard. +With your power and that of the others you should've done better.+ She tried to respond, +But, I didn't know how! I don't know this power, I don't know how it's used, help me!+ But the dark-haired spirit had disapeared and didn't seem to hear. As the
power that had been holding her up and calm fell away she
dropped to the ground, and lay there, just barely conscious.
She had a weak smile of triumph on her face, but at the same
time a few tears fell slowly for the losses they had suffered.
	Then the
spirits of the CFs returned to their bodies through some
inexplicable occurrence.
The life fluttered back into them and they all rose to their
feet.
So, with a death, comes the unexplainable resurrections.
They walk over to the slowly rising psychics and, with Nity
supporting Zelda, they all fall into a big tender group hug.
Spike and ShatterStorm come busting through the
 wall as they
finished destroying the rest of the ship "Did we miss
anything?" asked Spike, looking at the hugging, laughing group,
even the more serious CFs had joined in.
Then CFs started to cry with joy.
"Um we better get out of here." said Pyro.
"Why?" Zelda asked, now being held by both Tala and Nity.
"Well, as a precaution, I left a present for McTorn about
twenty-nine minutes ago and it might be a good idea to be out of
here
before it goes, I don’t think anyone wants to die...again."
They didn’t even have to ask what the little gift was, they
knew Pyro's style.
UA ‘ported them to the castle and watched
through the windows as the ship exploded into thousands of
little fragments and a large mushroom cloud rose into the air.
"Ugghh..." Entropy groans as he gets up, Leaning on the wall
for support. "Thanks, Zelda. I owe you on-Agh!" He gripped
his side, wincing with the pain. "Don't worry, we should be
OK so long as we get fixed up soon enough." He said, seeing
Zelda’s concerned glance. He staggered
toward the pile of ash where McTorn once stood, almost
smiling, then he spat on the spot. "Justice has been
served." He groaned. With that, leaning on Eme for support,
he slowly walked off.
"Guess we won." Nity said.
"Well, we won't know until 50 years later. But by then I
hope to be back in New York City." UA said.
	The telepaths
helped out the wounded and revived CFs as UA and Nity looked at
the pieces of McTorn's ship falling from the heavens. Then
they walked to join the other CFs.
"Say, what made you grab that sword?"
"....Not a clue. I guess this is one of those cases in
which "as it is written...so shall it be done."

UA Speaks....

"Did we save the future? Can the future that has yet to be
written really be safe? And if so, what does the future
hold? Do I ever get home? Do the CFs ever come to terms
with whatever demons haunt them? Will the fight between
good and evil ever end? (Probably not, it never has, and what’s
good without evil anyway?) These are all reasonable questions.
But, as a cardinal rule of time travel, one I broke in my
excitement, one must never know too much about one's
destiny. Destiny. That word has new meaning today. Not
only did we defend the homes of the Crystalians today,
we saved the homes and lives of Crystalians yet to be born.
I can't speak for the others, but I feel pretty darn
good--with the exception I also feel DEAD on my feet." *CLICK*
