NOTE: This is a fragment of a script I started to write a long time ago.
1 ENTERPRISE-B BRIDGE. JOHN HARRIMAN is at the CONN, MARK FAIRLANE is between Science and Communications, LENORA MCCOY is by HARRIMAN (on his left) and AGNES MACKENZIE is at Engineering. SULU and PIOTR and NYOTA are at stations. NYOTA turns to HARRIMAN.
Sir, message from Spacedock. They have an Admiral who is in a shuttlecraft on the way here and they are requesting we wait to take in the shuttlecraft.
HARRIMAN
Agnes, once the craft is in transporter range, beam the Admiral aboard. Nyota, inform them of this.
NYOTA (beat)
Sir, the Admiral refuses to use the transporter! He demands we allow him to dock.
HARRIMAN
Beam him aboard anyway. We don't have time for this.
LENORA
John, I don't think you want to do this. If that's who I think it is, you'll be in the Brig before you can count to three if you do.
HARRIMAN
(turning pale)
All right. Let the shuttlecraft dock. (mumbles something) Shuttle Bay 1, prepare to recieve executive shuttlecraft. Lenora, since you think you know this person, would you like to join me? Commander Fairlane, Lieutenant MacKenzie, please join us. Ensign Sulu, you have the CONN.
2 HARRIMAN, MCCOY, FAIRLANE, and MACKENZIE are in turbolift.
All right Doctor. Just who is this Admiral and how do you know him?
LENORA
Well, since he demanded to dock and refused to transport I can only assume it's (mumbles) my grandfather.
AGNES
Yer who? Speak up lass!
LENORA
My grandfather, Admiral Leonard McCoy.
AGNES
Och, aye. I remember that th' first Enterprise's records show he had a great resentment for th' transporter.
LENORA
Yeah. For my psychology thesis I tried to get rid of that phobia, but I failed. Got an "A" on the paper, though.
AGNES
Did ye throw him in a transporter?
LENORA
No.
AGNES
That's why ye failed.
3 OFFICERS WALK IN TO SHUTTLE BAY to see a 75-year-old Admiral.
Lenora!
LENORA runs up to him, puts her arms around his neck and kisses him.
Grandpa! What are you doing here?
ADMIRAL MCCOY
I said I'd commandeer your ship whenever I damn well liked. Well, I damn well liked.
HARRIMAN
Admiral, a pleasure! I'm Captain Harriman, these are my senior officers --
ADMIRAL MCCOY
Are you the fool who kept me waiting?
LENORA
Grandpa!
ADMIRAL MCCOY
I'm an old man ya know!
LENORA
Grandpa!!
HARRIMAN
I see sir. Well, why are you here? Is there a special mission?
ADMIRAL MCCOY
(grumbles) Here's the mission details. (hands HARRIMAN a disk)
HARRIMAN
Very well. Len-- Doctor, I'd like you to examine the Admiral and then both of you come to my Ready Room. Agnes, assemble the senior officers in my Ready Room in fifteen minutes. Mark, would you like to review this tape with me?
FAIRLANE and AGNES
Aye sir.
LENORA
On our way. Come on, Grandpa. If you're good, you'll get a lollipop.
4 They leave the shuttle bay. ADMIRAL MCCOY's voice is heard as the door closes.
As long as it's not one of those replicated abombinations.
LENORA and ADMIRAL MCCOY stand in front of a turbolift door. The turbolift takes a while to come.
Who's been holding up the damn elevator!?
LENORA
Grandpa!!!
Confused crewman looks at him strangely and hurries off.
And that's all folks!
