Jesse Powell

"I've finally found the nerve to say
I'm gonna make a change in my life
starting here today.
I surrender all my love
I never thought I could
I'm giving all my love away
And there's only one reason that I would...
And baby it's you..."

Next to Brian McKnight, there hasn't been a man with the power to move me to tears like Jesse Powell. His voice mixed with powerful lyrics capture such emotion it's unbelievible. Every song on his self-titled album have a meaning that goes much deeper than words. Songs like "You Don't Know","All Alone","Is It Over", and the remakes of "Gloria" and "It's you that I Need", draw you into his world. The power and sencerity in his voice makes you feel his pain. Other songs like "I will be loving you" and "All I Need", are just a sample of how big his heart is. My personal favorite, along with many others, is the song "You". After first hearing this song, I knew I had to buy the album. This song has to be the most romantic song that i've heard in a while. I wouldn't be suprised if I hear this song at a lot of weddings this year. It's right up there, in my book, with Brian McKnight's "Still in love" and "Never felt this way". I had the opprotunity to see Jesse perform live and I have to say, it was wonderful. There was no doubt in my mind that he would tear the stage up, and he did just that. Although he only sang for about 45 minutes, it was the best 45 minutes in the world. He gave a stellar performance. I could really tell that he loves it what he does, and he does it so well. I'm so looking forward to seeing him again...and again... :o)
