Mt. Ranier and Halloween 2000

We went down to Mt. Rainier the other weekend right before they closed this side of the mountain for winter because of the snow. We went on the most beautiful hike early in the morning and saw the glacier really clearly.

We started hiking up this really big hill and almost got blown back down again as you can see. After about 15 minutes of struggle we decided it was advisable to turn around and take a different trail.
We were looking down on the clouds!!
I think the deer were much less excited to see us than we were to see them.
Cool, eh?
Oh my, isn't it gorgeous?
You can see the clouds getting stopped on the west side of the mountain and then lifting to go over the top of the mountain. This is why it rains so much in Seattle!
