February 15th, 2000

See the disclaimer at the top that says "stupid e-mails will lead to targetting in tomorrow's entry"? Well, guess what I got! A STUPID E-MAIL! Courtsey of Renee! It's in regards to the Feb. 13th entry. Here's the e-mail:

Hi. ITs Renee.
I have a little bone to pick with you and I think its very important. I know your journal is your journal, but what you wrote about Laura yesterday REALLY bothered me! I talked to Laura about this and I know that you, Brandi and Mary talked about going to NYC and Laura never had any intentions of going with you guys. You just ASSUMED that she was going to go with you. Do you know what happens when ppl assume things? Well they make as "ASS out of U and ME"! And you made an ass out of yourselves. When you make plans with ppl make sure they are up for it and not just assuming they are going to come along. Just b/c Laura is on a cruise with her mother you have no right to judge her. The cruise was a graduation gift and she needs to make money when she returns home. BTW,Laura and anyone else for that matter can't just pick up and keep going on vacations b/c she works fulltime and her and I have had plans to go to NYC for over a year now. So I really think that your attack on her was wrong and not fair. Just b/c you are upset by assuming things you should not blame things that she didn't do on her. Btw, I think you owe her an apology. WHat you wrote was really unfair.
Renee

and here's my response:

Renee,
Does this concern you? What ever problems I have with Laura are MY problems with Laura. Your name doesn't come up anywhere in that equation.
As I said, I totally understand why Laura doesn't want to go... I really do. What bothers me is she chose to inform us of her not going less than a month before the trip. She told us all along she was coming. Yes, she TOLD us she was coming with us. And if Laura was here, I still would have wrote what I'd written. As for your plans with Laura, I'm not getting involved in that... maybe she told us different things, I dunno. And if I chose to apologize to Laura (and btw, who knows if she'll ever even SEE that entry) is MY business. I don't remember who told me to mind my own business (if it was you or Nat), but if it was you, you're slightly hypocritical. If it was Nat, sorry for the hypocritical remark.
If Laura had no intentions of going with us, then she REALLY needs to work on her communication skills because Brandi and Mary and myself were informed by her that she was coming. If she wasn't coming, why did Laura tell me to change the flight time from 4pm to 3pm so we could make an evening show? Why was she thrilled when my mom agreed to let Laura fly on air miles with me, as long as she paid my mom back?
In any case Renee, it's my business if I want to be mad at Laura. And it's her business if she wants to be mad at me. I understand that you're sticking up for your friend (and Laura is my friend too), but it's really none of your business. I'm really upset that our trip to New York isn't happening and Laura is (partially) to blame for that fact. And Renee, sticking your nose in other people's business makes an ass out of you.
~Lisa

February 13th, 2000

I am SO upset/mad at Laura right now, I cannot even begin to tell you all.

So, as you all know from reading my updates, I'm going to New York City in March. Brandi, Mary, Laura and I were all planning on going. We have a hotel room booked, plane tickets on hold (yay for air miles) and everything is going good. We all know/knew that we all depend on each for going, because of the cost of hotel rooms, cabs, etc. SO, everything is good.
Well, Laura tells us all today thru e-mail that she's not going anymore 'cause it's simply too much money, at a bad time, etc. etc.
Okay, that's totally cool if she can't go; I totally understand... IF SHE HAD TOLD US A MONTH AGO! Her situation has been the same since the beginning! She could have told us this a month ago! It's now less than a month until we're supposed to go!!! She KNOWS/KNEW that we were all depending on each other.
Honestly, if Laura had told me and the two crazy Americans that she didn't want/couldn't go a month ago, it would have been fine. I wouldn't have been mad AT ALL. But to tell us NOW! Less than a month before...
This was supposed to be *our* trip. :(
