Welcome to PeeWee Soccer! The goal of Pee Wee Soccer is to introduce the young player (4 year olds) to the basics of soccer and to HAVE FUN! For most children, PeeWee is their first exposure to team sports, so we try to make it as friendly and non-competitive as possible. The drills are disguised as games with which children are familiar (Red Light/Green Light, Follow the Leader, Simon Says, etc...). We de-emphasize winning and concentrate on fun and good sportsmanship!

Don't be alarmed if your child seems reluctant to join in, especially in the first week or so. Once they become familiar with the faces and concepts, they will become more confident. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact your coach or myself.

We hope that you and your children enjoy this Fall Season of Pee Wee soccer!

Teams: We create an even number of PeeWee teams, each consisting of 5 to 6 kids. Each player receives their own numbered team tee-shirt.

Equipment: Players should have shin pads, a number #3 soccer ball, and a water container. Cleats are allowed but not necessary.

Schedule: PeeWees will meet on Saturdays from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. on the Russell Street Track Field for practices in the fall and informal scrimmages in the spring. There are no mid-week practice sessions. In the spring, each team will have a brief practice, followed by an orange break and then an informal scrimmage with another team. We do not keep score. Coaches will set up a weekly orange slice schedule.

Cancellations: You will be notified by phone by your coach or assistant coach of cancellations due to bad weather.

Volunteers: If you are interested in helping out your child's team, contact your coach about being an Assistant. Assistants help the coach with phone calls and recruit other parents to man the concessions. Your coach may also need help orchestrating games and drills, so feel free to help by formally assisting or just stepping in when help is needed.
