Dreams Do Come True: Chapter 25

Cassie woke up first in the morning. She walked right over to the room’s window, being very careful not to wake up anyone. She looked out the window.

“What a beautiful day. What should we do? I wonder if the guys want-” Her thoughts were quickly removed. She saw in the hotel parking lot, the guys van. She remembered that today was their last day together. She stiffled a tear. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Caroline. Cassie turned to her. Caroline could see Cassie’s sadness in her eyes.

“I know. I know. Let’s just make this the best day yet, okay?” Cassie nodded. The two of them then stood there, hugging, in the sunlight from the window.

--------------------

Lisa and the others woke up later that mornig, at around 10. Amanda was panicing.

“I can’t believe that I slept in like this. I could have been doing something with Brian. This is the last day I’m going to see him. How could I have been so stupid?” She was saying all this while she was pacing around the room.

“Amanda calm down. It’s okay. The guys said to be ready only at around 10:30. You didn’t waste any time.” Lisa said, trying to reasure her friend.

“I know, it’s just... I can’t do this...”Amanda droped onto the couch and started to cry. Caroline sat next to her, and rubbed her back.

“Come on Amanda. Everything is going to be fine. I’m dying inside too. We just have to show the guys that we’re okay. How do you think they feel? Just as bad. Why remember the end? Remember all the great times we created in the past few days...”

After Caroline said that, she began to flashback a few of her favorite times. She remembered that night out in the limo...

She remembered how good it felt to be in Kevin’s arms, the touch of his body against hers. She rememberd everything. All from the music that was playing to every breath they took. She smiled to herself.

“Amanda don’t worry. The guys mean a lot to us, and we mean a lot to them. They’d never in their lives lie to us.” Cassie added in.

“I know... I’m just going to miss them.”

“We all are, but there is nothing we can do about it. We just all have to live with it. We’ll see them again, don’t worry about that.” Lisa said.

“You’re right... So, why don’t we get dressed. We’re going to have a long day ahead of us.” A smile was on Amanda’s face. Everyone agreed. They all changed into some clothes, and then waited for the guys to come over.

--------------------

The guys showed up at 10:45. It was wierd. When they showed up, everyone acted like it was the first time they had met. All awkward, not knowing what to say or do.

Christine decided to break the uncomfortable silence. “So what are we going to do today? It’s so beautiful, I wouldn’t want to waste it in here all day...”

“Well, we were plaing on taking you girls out on the town during the day. A nice diner for lunch, a stroll through the older part of town, and then come back to the hotel to get ready for tonight.” A.J. answerd her.

“But aren’t you guys leaving tonight?”

“We are, but only at 2:00. We were able to get Donna to push back our flight, so we could at least spend New Year’s Eve with you.” Kevin replied.

“We even get to count down to the new year with you. We’re going to go back to the restaurant where we first went.” Howie said.

“That place was so nice...” Lisa said, remembering the night as if it were yesterday.

“So there we have it. So why don’t we get going? It’s already 11, so we can head straight to the diner now, I guess.” Nick said.

Everyone got up and headed out of the room, and went downstairs to the lobby to leave.

--------------------

They all walked the beautiful street of London, on their way to the diner. Though the air was slightly cold, the heat from the bright sun warmed them up. The guys had on their hats and sunglasses, in hopes that none of their fans would take time away from their last day with the girls. They all held the girls hands, talking as they went along.

They got to the diner at around 11:25, and they were able to get a rather large booth in the back of the diner, where no one could see them. All ten of them fit into the booth. They orderd their meals, and talked.

“So what are you girls going to do now?” Brian asked.

“Well, we’re proboly going to go home, and then go back to school. At least we didn’t miss any. I hate catching up on things I’ve missed.” Amanda replied.

“We’ve also been talking, and we’ve all decided to move on together. We don’t know when it’s happening, maybe in a few months.” Caroline added.

“Yeah, we’ve all head steady jobs ever since we’ve been able to work, and we all promised to save up our money so we would have something to live off of.” Christine said.

“So are your parents fine with this decision of yours?” Kevin asked.

“Um, well, they don’t agree with it, but they all know we’ll do the right thing.” Cassie finished.

Are you girls going to finishe school too? The greatest thing in life is the satisfaction of learning, well, at least I think so.” Howie said.

“Two of us definatly are finsihing Cegep and stuff... But Christine, Amanda and I are um... thinking of other things.” Amanda and Christine shot Lisa these looks.

“Lisa, keep your mouth closed please,” Christine said calmly, acting as if nothing hapend.

“What she talking about? Is there something you haven’t told us?” A.J. asked, interested to see what these ideas were.

“It’s nothing really, just a small little dream that the three of us have, and that no one believes we can do. That’s all.” Amanda said, keeeping their idea as vague as possible.

“Come on you guys can tell us.” Brian said.

“Come on guys, I don’t think they’ll think you’re crazy. We know, and we still think you’re normal... Sorta...” Caroline said.

Amanda and Christine looked at Lisa. “You tell them Lis,” Christine said.

“Okay. Well, ever since gread 9, the three of us have had this little tiny dream, it was to become... singers. No one evr took us seriously, and no one does. We’ve never really became serious about it until the past few months. We have a studio that we’re using to record some things we’ve done, and we’vw been practicing a lot, in hopes that one dat our chance will come.” Lisa was a little imbaressed that she actually told them. Amanda’s cheek were a little pink.

“We didn’t want to tell you guys, because we didn’t well, we just didn’t want you to know.” Amanda said, very imbaressed.

“There’s nothing wrong with having a dream, as long as your ready to pursue it. Go for it, I’m sure something good will happen from it.” Nick said. The three girls smiled at them. A.J. leaned over to Christine and whisperd in her ear.

“You know, now that you’ve told us this, you’re going to have to sing for me...” Christine pushed him away playfully.

The meals arrived, and everyone ate and such. When everything was done, well eaten that is, they all got up and headed out. Kevin payed the bill, and then they all went outside for their walk.

--------------------

As they walked through the small streets of the older part of London, they were stopped by some fans who were able to reconize them. They guys were very nice in giving autographs to them, only becuase the fans we’re very nice to them. The fans did ask who the girls were, and the guys replied that they were close friends from back home who came to visit.

That comment bugged a few of the girls, but they knew that they were only doing it becuase they had too.

When they were done with the fans, their walk continued. They went into a few stores, and looked around. They also walked to the two two parks, the one where A.J. and christine went to, and the one where Amanda and Brian went to. Reminding each couple of the events that took place in these parks. They were all so wrapped up in the moment, that they didn’t even notice what time it was, until Howie looked at his watch.

“Hey guys, it’s already 6:00. Maybe we should head back to the hotel and get ready for tonight.” Howie suggested.

Everyone decided he was right, and everyone headed back to the hotel. The guys went to their room, while the girls went to theirs. Everyone decided to meet at 7:00, down in the lobby, before they went to the restaurant.

The girls all got ready, each one of them going over the past few days in their mind, wanting to cry, but not. The girls were ready on time, and they all went to the lobby.

The guys were waiting for them there, with a rose in each of their hands. They gave them to the girls, giving them a kiss also. Caroline noticed their bags beside them.

"What are your bags doing here?" She asked.

"Oh, don't worry. They're just going to bring them to the airport now, so we don't have to go through all that checking stuff. It'll just give us more time with you." Just then, Donna walked up to everyone.

"Hope you guys have a good evening. Guys, treat these girls right. Girls, don't let these guys go... They're a fine catch. Keep in touch."

"We plan on it." Cassie said, holding onto Howie's hand.

"Well, the limo is waiting for you guys outside. Maybe you should go now." Donna said. They all said good-bye to Donna and headed for the limo.

--------------------

The drive to the restaurant was a long quiet one. No one decided to talk, just sit there, in silence, wishing the night would never end.

The limo pulled up to restaurant, and the guys showed the girls in. They had the same table as the first night. It just made things more tense. The guys showed the girls to their seats, then sitting next to them. The waitor came around, and everyone ordered their meals, and when the waitor left, everything went silent again. Howie sighed out loud.

"We shouldn't spend the rest of our night not talking. This is sopose to be the best night we're going to have. Let's not let anything get to us. Not now... Let's all go up and dance, relax. Please." Howie said. He couldn't take anymore of this silence.

"I couldn't have said it better myself." Cassie said, getting up and leading him to the dance floor. Everyone else followed in their lead.

The couples all danced for a few songs, and then the band decided to take a break. So they all headed back to their table, and when they got there, the waitor came back with their food. Everyone was much more relaxed. They all went over the past few days, laughing, talking and having a good time. When they had finished their food, they still went on talking, not realizing the time pass by. All of a sudden, one of the band members made an anouncement.

“Um, if any of you would like to have one more dance before we count it off, please come to the floor noe. Thank you.” Everyone looked at each other, and got up from the table. Cassie and Howie were acting quite fine with everything. They both realized, that if they really cared for each other, they would keep in touch.

“I promise I’ll call you, if you promise you’ll call me.” Howie said to Cassie.

“I promise. Let’s not lose touch. I don’t ever want to lose you.” She said, looking up to him.

“And I don’t ever want to lose you.” He kissed her cheek, and the two of them went on dancing.

--------------------

Kevin and Caorline were dancing, but Caroline couldn’t look him in the eyes. He lifted her chin up.

“What’s wrong?” He asked.

“I’m going to miss you. I’m afraid I’m going to lose you to some other girl. I don’t think I’d be able to live with myself if that happend.” She said, her voice shaky.

“Don’t worry, that won’t happen. I love you more than anything, I wouldn’t ever hurt you like that. I love you.” When these words came out of his mouth, Caroline’s heart felt like it was melting. She believed him.

“I love you too. Forever.”

--------------------

A.J. and Christine were acting as if it was the first night all over again. He was dipping her, and twisting her, and spining her. Once again, he spun her, so her back was pressed up against his body. She rememberd the first time this happend. She turned to him, and put her arms around his neck.

“A.J., I have loved you from the moment I layed eyes on you. You’re all I think about. How am I ever going to live with out you?”

“Simple. I love you too. Knowing that you know I love you, will make you live each day. The day I stop loving you, is the day the world will end. But even then, I still don’t think I could stop loving you.” She smiled at him. Slowly, she moved her lips to his, and she kissed him.

--------------------

Amanda wasn’t talking at all. She had her head rested on Brian’s shoulder. She ended up crying, only because she couldn’t hold it in anymore.

“Amanda, please don’t cry. I don’t want to leave you if you’re like this.” Brian said to her.

“I can’t help it. I’m losing the one guys I ever truly felt something for.”

“You’re not losing me. You’ll always have me. Just becuase I’m not with you doesn’t mean that I don’t care. You mean so much to me now. I never thought a dream could come true, until now.” Amanda slowly stopped crying, and she held onto him a bit tighter, wishing she didn’t have to let him go...

--------------------

Nick was gently rubbing Lisa’s back, trying to sooth her a bit.

“So, when I’m gone, are you going to go and chase after some other guy?” He asked, smiling.

“No, are you crazy? You’re the only man in my life. I could never go and turn my back on you. I would feel terrible.”

“Same here.” He took hold of her hands, and held them against his heart. “Feel that?”

“Yeah.”

“You know what it’s doing?”

“Beating...”

“Yeah, but it’s beating for you...”

--------------------

The song ended, then everyone began to count down to midnight.

“!0... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!” Confetti fell from the ceiling, covering everyone. The guys kissed the girls, and everyone exchanged little love messages. They all head a glass of champaing, but then they had to go.

They got their jackets, and went back into the limo, and they headed for the airport. The ride there was a bit better than the one earlier. Everyone was talking a bit.

They got to the airport, and Donna was waiting for the guys.

“You have to hurry now. The plane leaves soon. Sya your good byes, and lets go. I hope you girls had a great time, I hope to see you around again.”

The guys were bring rushed, so nothing ened up being romantic. They said good bye, and kissed the girls. Donna was in a hurry so she made them cut everything short. The guys, looking very sad, left the girls. The girls were not aloud to follow them, it was a restricted area. They all just stood there, in disbelief. The guys they had loved for so long, are just walking out of their lives, forever. They all started to turn around, but Amanda didn’t. She still stared at Brian. He turned around and mouthed to her “I love you.” She mouthed it back, and then she turned to follow the girls. As they walked out of the airport, Amanda thought of what Brian said to her earlier, and she believed him. She thought them to herself.

“Dreams do come ture... But will they last?”
