MY
DARLING
Rachel Scott was one of the funniest, warmest people I have ever met. Rachel and I use
to joke around all the time. We had a joke at the beginning of the year that we were in a
relationship and she had just dumped me for a man. We use to start yelling at each other
in the middle of class and end up laughing. I remember seeing her cutting for the first
time, Christopher Durangs “Titanic”. Her interpretation of it was classic and so funny.
During novice season when she would practice I would have to time all the novices
performances. Rachel began to do hers but she kept rocking on her feet. We kept
stopping her which was funny but still was getting on all of our nerves including hers.
Finally Nick volunteered to hold her feet down. It had to be one of the funniest things I
have ever seen. Nick laying across the stage holding Rachel’s feet down and we are all
trying to keep a straight face so that she can keep performing. I could always tell it was
Rachel talking to me because she would either yell out BENGE or PASTY. I laughed so
hard the time at Columbine Novice forensics meet when I had these gigantic red “whore”
shoes on and Rachel wanted to try them on so I gave them to her and I’m sitting around
and it gets to be later and later so I’m running around the halls yelping Rachel give me
back my shoes (mocking the moving Ransom). It was so funny spending time with
Rachel. I only have one regret with Rachel and I think about it almost ever day. On the
Friday before prom I had become upset and was running out of the room to call my
boyfriend. Rachel stopped me and asked if I was all right. I fluffed it off and ran out
telling her that I would talk to her about it later and not to worry. I never got that chance.
that was the last thing I ever said to her. I hope she knows how much she meant to me. I
love you my darling.
