The Road we Travel on is never the one of least resistance

When something horrible happens in life they say it makes you stronger. I don’t think what happened at Columbine has made me any stronger. I just think it has made me more aware of life in general and that things no matter how pretty underneath are not always perfect. For a long time i thought i went to the perfect school led the perfect like and had the perfect boyfriend. Perfection isn’t achievable in real life. A year later I still cry and hurt and ask why. But i can't wish it away and think that everything will turn out fine. It is up to the individual to live their lives the best they can. Since April 20, 1999, many things have happened. Threats have been made, two people have taken their own lives, school has started, I got an A on an English report, I went to prom, my grandfather died, my mother had surgery, I have broken up with my boyfriend got back together with my boyfriend and so on. Life is how you lead it and how you look at it. You cant wish pain and circumstance away. But you can make yourself who you want to be by how you react to that. I cant change April 20 or wish it away. But i can learn from it. After all Rafiki said it best " The past can hurt, but the way i see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it, so what are you going to do?"
