I grew up in East Orlando,Florida. But now I live in Alabama, On the Alabama and Tennesse borders...just North of Huntsville. I am the Dining Room Manager at Shoney's in Tennesse...and I love the job!! If your ever down this way...stop by and say hey!!!! It's really beautiful down here!
I have been all over the United States...with the exception of the New England states..never made it past Phillidelphia. Maybe someday.
But right here where I am is my favorite place to be...I really love the South...and if you wonder why...then all I can say is "It's a Southern Thang you wouldn't understand"!!!
What to learn to speak Southern??
We say Yes Ma'am and smile big...and a man's handshake is worth more than a written contract and less likely to be broken. The girls are beautiful...and they drive big ole 4 X 4 pick up trucks and go mud slingin' with them every chance they get. G.R.I.T.S. stands for Girls Raised In The South. Oh yeah, contrary to popular belief....it isn't "SLOW" down here....have you ever gone to a big ole BBQ by the creek...and done the "Watermelon Crawl"?? How about shooting an Alabama Slammer? Or put peanuts in your Coke??? Skinny dippin by the moonlight in a boxite mine? Or gone to a true Southern Baptist Church and watch the preacher with all you have....when the Holy Spirit moves him?... Well you get my point...we all don't sit on the front porch in rockers saying Ma and Pa & listening to country music, dippin' snuff....watching the world go by, we love Rock and Roll ( I listen to WZYP..104.3) and raising hell....we work hard and play hard! But if you gotta ask....never mind!!! *wink*
