Jason Jarrett drives for the Busch Grand National Series team owned by father Dale Jarrett and NFL star Brett Favre. He isn't having his greatest season either, but he's working with his team to iron out the problems. Last year, Jason endured controversy when he parted ways with a team, then read reports that the owner deemed him unworthy of this level of competition.
"I know that kind of drew more attention to it," Jason said. "I was really hoping I could go in with my own business and that they could go on with theirs." It's not just the name Jarrett that has changed Jason's view of racing. He grew up as an eyewitness to the struggles of a famous son. Dale Jarrett raced in the shadow of his father, Ned. Now it's Jason's turn. "It's a tough business, but I knew that going into it from watching dad struggle early on," Jason said. "I talk to some people and it's like, 'You have all this experience, you should do well.' Really, I've only run about 30 Busch races, and that's not a full season. . . . It takes some guys many years to achieve success. My dad's been doing this for 23 years, and he just won the championship."
