Rice, Sausage and Apples 2 large or 3 small tart apples. (Do not peel, slice) Place in bottom of casserole. Add Brown suger to cover apples, Cook 1 1/2 cups of long grain rice 2 1/2 cups of cold water 1 tsp salt. (boil water and add rice-reduce to simmer and cook for 20 minutes until the water is gone. Cover apples and brown sugar with the rice 1 pkg of link sausage. (cover with boiling water and let stand (small links 3-5 min) (large links 5-7 min) Place sausage on top of rice and cover with barbecue sauce, and bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for 45 mins with lid on. Remove lid and cook an additional 18 minutes.
