Dancing Flowers Sonnet I saw the dancing flowers swirl in place and heard the songs they sang to catch my eye, so I in silence stood and watched their face. Sweet song with sounds of love that cannot die, I smelt their fragrance as sweet as springtime and saw the sun upon each petal clear. They touched my heart with gentle words of rhyme that made me smile, knowing they were so near. Their beauty calls the pearly mist morning and wakes the songbirds on a nearby tree. They who once danced until the day's dawning lay sleeping sweetly in the deep blue sea. The tender moonbeams happy with laughter dancing flowers now and ever after. ©Marie Calhoun
