Recruiting Duty
There is no single assignment which can prepare a Marine for recruiting
duty. The potential recruiter, like any effective sales person, must
project a positive attitude and believe in the product before he/she is
able to make a sale. The Marine recruiter is a highly visible individual
in the civilian community. The recruiter must be able to cope with
a certain degree of rejection and frustration and resist the temptations
encountered in the independent duty environment. The nature of a
Marine recruiter's responsibilities require the potential recruiter to
be mature, self-confident, trustworthy, and cooperative. Marines
should present an exceptional appearance, be self-starters, and possess
good judgment. If you are interested in becoming a Marine recruiter,
please call or stop by the Career Planner's office.
If you answered no, contact the Career Planner ASAP! |
Enlisted resident
Nonresident PME is the only requirement for promotion to the next grade, however, all Marines should make every effort to attend the appropriate resident PME course for their rank. SNCO promotions are very competitive and one way of to increase your competetivness for promotion is to attend your resident PME course. Marines from MATSG Pensacola usually attend the courses at the SNCOA, Quantico, Virginia. The following is a list of the upcoming courses to be held at Quantico.

Drill Instructor Duty
The drill instructor is the first Marine a young recruit meets when
reporting for active duty and the last Marine the recruit should ever forget.
The drill instructor's actions will be emulated by the recruit. Therefore,
the potential drill instructor must possess a high degree of maturity,
leadership, judgment and professionalism. There are many benefits
of becoming a drill instructor, to find out what they are just stop by
or call the Career Planner. ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE!
