I am in psp and I happen to hit the wrong button It takes me to a place that has my checkerboard over some crosshatched lines that cover the whole screen how do I get out of that mess? Menu, view, click on grid and it will be gone wwwdot I tried to do tubes lesson and got all my pictures ready and went to do the lesson and couldn't . I guess I better go back and do layers lesson first . eagel it helps to know layers, but you don't need them for tubes you put your tubes on a single transparent canvas I thought each picture goes on a different layer? at 16 million you can if you want I could not get the pictures to go on the grid I do it that way to be able to move them around AFTER I have placed them but if you don't know layers you can just place it right the first time something I NEVER do LOL Yes at first I had done them all and made them the same size THEN I realized they had to be 16 million and had to go redo them eagel you could select the item from the picture with magic wand and then edit/copy then switch to your transparent canvas and pick I opened a new image and the opened all my 6 flowers I want to use but can't get them on the new image edit/paste/paste as new selection you have to select the edges of one flower is it 16 million colours? yes they are all at 16 now k and all 6 are separate images? yes okay here... open one flower select the flower only (not the background canvas) k if it has a coloured background you might want to contract by 1 or 2 to get rid of unwanted colour near the selection edge once it is selected to your satisfaction no background color do Edit/Copy oh that makes it real easy :) click the magic wand on the canvas behind the flower have setting to tolerance of 0 to 2 k now go Selections/Invert the flower will be selected yes now go edit/copy k click on the transparent canvas (the one that all the tubes will go in eventually) now go Edit/Paste/Paste as new selection and move the flower to where you think it should be on the canvas rąą YEAHeąą>r I have been trying all day to make them stay there repeat that process for all 6 flowers did I explain that okay? Yup I am doing them now when I do a full screen display how do i get my icons back the top row of my icons disappear hmm augustus I'll tell you how I do it do you have psp open right now? when in full screen I just click up where I think view is and the menu comes down and click off full screen I push my mouse cursor up near the top anyway ok and the menus drop as you near them wwwdot does the same thing ok tks but I think there is a sequence of keys to push the psp way I just can never remember it there are toggles for the otheres Why not just click on view and click on toolbars? and then pick the ones you want to show? eagel the toolbar goes away they disapper when you go to full screen mode everything at the top will go away get pushed off screen shift-A brings it back thanks jean :) wow, tks now I know where did you find that wwwdot jean found the answer shift+A also there is no way to pick something in the undo that is in the middle of the undo list is there? Yes eagle, go to history and del but it deletes all that came after also when I was dong the bird lesson I had a awful time getting it to work doing the bird in 4.6 lesson juliaanna do you mean the brush ? custom brush one okay how far did you get? not far because I got real confused do you have the bird.jpg file on your hard drive? yes okay is psp open now? okay it is open right make sure it is 16 million colours the bird is on my screen what did yo want me to do do this pick colors/increase color depth is the option 16 million colors greyed out? not black ? yes good that means it is 16 million colors now pick your magic want tool put the settings on a tolerance of about oh 3 now click on the white canvas not on the bird or the branches and feather ? feather 0 on both sides of the bid oh juliaanna I just loaded the lesson it says use tolerance of 40 juliaanna you should only have to click on one side of the bird changed it the selection lines should go all the way around it automatically it didn't just on one side hmm okay then hold down the CTRL and click once on the other side or better yet do this... I click on the left side and it did it all around go Image/Canvas size and type in 300 for width and 300 for height now that I got it all around it do you still want me to do it no okay so now go Selections/Invert there are small area without ??? the whole bird should be selected, not the canvas in front of the feet ????? right greta use the CTRL key and click on the small areas juliaanna is your whole bird selected? yes' hmm okay greta, try holding down the SHIFT key and clicking the magic wand on the small dots between that leaf in fromt of his toes juliaanna now..... click your brush tool ok where and in the brush control palette click the brush tip tab juliaanna the brush tool on the tool palette k and open your control palette (press the letter O) if it is not open already in that palette there is a tab called Brush tip click it and click custom... from them menu that drops then click on create from the window that opens you are done k now what now I have two birds lol now you paint with your bird now do I click ok two birds in the hand is worth more than three in thebush juliaanna you could click OK or you could click on the bird instead that will select it to be your brush tip now when you paint you paint in birds try it on a new canvas ok I get a ghost bird ???? no bird ? greta you mean it is black and white? outline only greta did you invert the selection? greta here.... open the bird select magic wand set tolerance to 40 click on the white canvas it is not working if any spots/dots are left unselected.. hold down your SHIFT key and click on the dots all selected until all are selected now... Selections/Invert now Click on the brush in the tool palette open your control palette if it is not open already (press letter O) in the control palette click on the tab that says Brush Tip leapin i am dong somethng wrong because it is not working in the Brush tip window, click the tiny icon of a brush from the menu that drops select custom.... now click on the CREATE button bird appears there you should see your bird appear with the other brush tips :) great greta then? now you are ready to paint with it click OK click ok greta now in the brush tip window k click on Custom... when the brush tip pictures open.. scroll until you see your bird now double click that bird but had to resize cause it said it could onl be 255X255 step ? umm about 50 try or maybe 25 when you went to create I got that message on sorry k remember step is how far apart each item will be from the first now greta open a new canvas about 600 x 600 and make the background white pick blue, dark blue as your foreground colour now just start painting with the paintbrush you should see the birds being painted Leapin I stil cant' get it to paint I opened a new box but it didn't work greta if you are not happy with how far apart they are painting change the Step size now let's move back to julianna juliaanna do you have a new white canvas opened? yes okay do you have the paint brush tool selected? from the right yes okay juliaanna... now in the control palette click on the tab that says Brush tip ok then click on the tiny icon of a brush from the menu select custom... now when you see pictures of brushes..scroll down until you see your bird ok I still have two birds double click the bird and put 25 in for step size ok yes okay change your foreground paint colour to dark blue ok just a minute now hold down your mouse button, and start painting on the white canvas you will see birds no not yet now do I go back to the brush just making sure nobody paints in white on a white canvas is all juliaanna click Brush tip click tiny icon of brush pick custom and double click bird I did double click the bird and the box and it is set at 25 now change foreground colour in psp to blue and start painting on your WHITE canvas I d/l some tubes today and unzipped them to my tubes folder but they are not there. How do I find them? star the best way I find is to open psp click File/Open k point the directory to the folder your tubes are in click browse it will show thumbnails of all your tubes double click the one(s) that our not in the listing to open them same as any image once opened click File/Export/Picture tube and file out the window that opens done ok will do that and see. thanks now the name you gave it in the window, will appear on your listing the next time you select the tubes tool k let me know how you make out follow these steps open a new canvas File/new make it 600 width 600 height and pick White for background now click the brush in the control palette click the tab that says Brush Tip click the tiny icon in brush tip window then select custom... you should now see some images appear scroll down the images until you see your bird image double click it a window opens about step fill in 25 click and OK now make your foreground color in psp dark blue now go to your white canvas and paint a line from left to right use your LEFT mouse button drag across did you maximize your canvas? it is at 600 yes but are you viewing it at 1:1 ratio does it fit your screen..large -> -z-quiltermom- you could check out the tut and get started on sounds or come to #irc-nest and I can help. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/3421/soundstutor2.html is there a way of making like a signature this way ? greta if you have a real steady hand yes my thoughts exactly gretta. You can do that just write your name and turn it into a brush thank you thank you I was just giving up on it you could draw your signature for signatures on all your great art work or chose a font ????? or better yet if you have a wacom pen partner it is a snap yes you could use a font also yes a font would work but your own handwriting is better I will probably use art pad to do it though cause I cant write with mouse greta use text tool pick font type name on 16 million canvas choose whatever colours you want leave text selected pick brush click Brush Tip tab click tiny icon of brush select Custom.. choose CREATE click ok go back w to tiny icon choose custom double click your signature put step you want and paint now when I clicked on the bird and it was 25 what happens if number is larger???? Try it and see julianna :-) juliaanna the larger the number.. the farther apart each bird will be place on the canvas the smaller the number, the closer they will be cool a 1 will make them over lap < you do have mIRC right quilter? do you have any sounds at all? yes or have you ever heard anyone else's? on mirc no okay first let's set up your sound options click on File/Options and then pick the Sounds tab put a checkmark in every box on under the sounds tab now I will send you a sound file a short one accept it and let it download when it is done I will play it and you tell me if you heard it I get ghost signature....:-( greta you forgot to SElections/Invert you have to remember to Invert the selection I thought it was selected already ? oops...brb otherwise you are only saving the canvas which is what gives you the ghost okay I will play it let me know if you hear it * Leapin Now playing c:\mirc\sound\swagger.wav !Leapin swagger.wav I can hear it!!!!! did you hear it? yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh okay now to hear sounds you have to have the one the person plays and they have to have the ones you play eagel has an automatic sound catcher To Add a Sound Catcher to Remotes 1. Go to your remote icon. That's the 8th icon from the left. 4.Scroll down that window to a blank space and add this. on !1:NOSOUND:/msg $chan ! $+ $nick $filename 5. Click OK Now when some one plays a tune you don't have that remote will 'catch' it and file it on your hard drive. Do you have your sound folders set up? quilter to do it manually if I play a sound and you see you don't have it like this one.. * Leapin Now playing c:\mirc\sound\unstable.wav all you do if you want is.. type !leapin unstable.wav and that will tell my mirc to send you the file where? here !leapin unstable.wav just like that ok you are getting it even better and quicker to just hilight and paste it from the screen to your typing bar. That way you are assured of having all the spaces and names correct now if eagle played let's say flying.wav
