PSP ? I have been working on the buttons for our 1st assignment and just noticed as I was uploading some that they are HUGH all over 1000k one is even 7232k what am I forgetting to do or doing wrong? did you resize? yes a few but they are all still big I have a few at PSP nest already and the link to my new site is there with only one right now eagel my moon and snowman is only 2k... the ones i did are only 2 and 3 k I can upload them but they are huge and wondered what I forgot to do Can't you make the graphics smaller and compress them. just a sec let me get to freeyellow I hate doing this on a foreign puter, Have it all on disk etc compress I didn't do that at all I think you need to do that... You have to resize in psp and then compress when you are in the save popup. compress I'm still doing my first lesson lol Has anyone looked at the bulletin board. They have the new setup running now. Great. I was there today/... me too Fabric and I had to get a new site cause I filled geo and tripod and I am still trying to figure out freeyellow and I still havent even found the place to upload more than one file at a time. and that is a real pain Mine just switched over a few minutes ago. and the activate part and I can't even change my index there and .......... I dont ftp so I havent done anything with my xoom site at all except get it What is FTP geo and tripod do it for you file transfer protacol ok You mean I have been doing it the hard way? OZ I JUST REALIZED WHAT YOU SAID HERE-I GUESS IF YOU HAVE ONLY EVER KNOWN A XOOM SITE THEN I GUESS YOU WOULDN'T KNOW THAT MOST sites have a file manager that uploads files for you. OZAll you do is 'browse for them like when you open any file and then just click them in. I just upload in file manager i think so oz... yes fabric that is what I mean they do it for us lazy bird here and even had that twice in net class didnt we oz and I still didnt learn it I use earthlink pages so have to ftp LOL OZ same thing almost all the others geocities, tripod, fortunecity, talkcity all have managers and we dont have to ftp How about Publish in Communicator Composer Never looked at it. but you still have to upload don't you? I was looking a composer today. No it does it for you I believe I think it depends on the server you upload to doesn't it? http://www.freeyellow.com/members5/eagel/EagelsAssignments.html I am going to go compress these and upload more Session Close: Thu Oct 22 17:05:26 1998 Session Start: Fri Oct 23 16:17:31 1998 * Logging #sosstudy to '#sosstudy.log' I registered my nick - and now they say it is in use?? Identify change your nick back and identify says erroneus Nickname? hum Is it for jbr? no - was for jean this didn't work? /nick jean then /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password? *** jean\ is now known as jean let me change it this time - said password accepted RIGHT FROM THE START THIS CONVERSATION I HAD WITH FABRIC WAS MISUNDERSTOOD. WE WERE BOTH TAlkING ABOUT 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. I am deleting the whole thing and explaining what each of us were talking about. Jean first: trying to bring back my screen I have a floating screen how do I bring it back Fabric was talking mirc screen. You can remove the mirc screen from the main mirc frame. You can also move and resize it just like you do your browser windows by using the double arrows at the edge of your screen. This is called-putting the screen to desktop' To put the screen to desktop go to the box in the upper left of this screen next to #sosstudy. click on it and a dropdown menu will appear. If the word 'desktop is Not checked, then click on it. Then you will be able to minimize the main mirc screen and this one will be'floating' on the desktop. To get it off of desktop-click on that grey box again and click on desktop and that will turn the desktop off and you will have your screen back into the main mirc frame. how do I bring my screen back to normal size? click on the middle box in the upper right of window To make it fill the mirc screen click on the box in the middle where you normally click to minimize. That will maximize the screen. deflost i think is in selections at the bottom of the menu how do you bring it back to normal size? On Desktop or float as you call I find it is much better once you have it to desktop just resize it like you do your browser-move your mouse to the edge of the screen till you get double arrows and hold mouse down and resize it WHEN FABRIC SAID FLOATING I THOUGHT SHE MEANT FLOATING IN PSP defloat i think is in selections at the bottom of the menu selection in the wordbar at top and defloat is at the bottom selection in the wordbar at top and defloat is at the bottom at the top of the PSP screen where file and edit are roz be sure to send you url to Diamond for inclusion on classmates pages diamondlightfoot@yahoo.com she is making a page of our urls, email addy, ICQ etc information hmm... ok. Are the URLs just for class stuff? url only for the assignments? Actually I did all the graphics and stuff with PSP5 and Eye Candy no I am not sure why mail is bouncing I just noticed I havent received any new mail since the 21 but I am not home either, DE is doing the PSP assignment page and Diamond and Dreamweaver are yes ALL pages are to be included All classmates are to be included for what eagel? there are 2 class pages being made just assignments right? Well then I can probalby get it in the HTML class listing. I will ask Leapin when she comes in. one is by DE for PSP assignment pages we are making like this one of mine http://www.freeyellow.com/members5/eagel/EagelsAssignments.html I did not even start my HTML class project. Better get cracking before the class tomorrow night. I wrote lots of copy but have not gotten it to the web yet. The Vets pages was very consuming. and Diamond is making a page of class information urls, email, ICQ etc Well what is the Vets page if not html ? I could not download zip from Leapens site, used granny wickets Eagle.. of course Vets is HTML. But the code is not correct I am sure. I used my Memorial Day page as a base and I am just now editing the code now that it is up on the web for viewing and visiting. That is great roz I see no reason why not to use that for html class did you all get to download gif.zip? I was just curious if my site worked also Granny lots have said they went to you and got it oh good thanks eagle Thanks GW for Picture site for zip, just about gave up trying other which zip are you talking about ? the zip for the pictures we are to work on for lesson 2 greata are you still haveing fun with word wwwdot? I have still not finished lesson 1 GW how many pictures in that file? I will leave it there dot,and greta 12 pic in file I have 12 pictures why is it so difficult to retrieve ? then passed it through mirc and then de suggested another site set up I got it the first try, I could not believe the trouble people are having granny not sure why greta, but now there are two sites some are saying 12 minutes Granny it stopped on me too dancin, but I thought it was because (you know me) I was multitasking, lol I am just getting ready to upload Who as Jacob- I am going to do the lassoo on him hello Ghatten!! hi sorry I'm tardy. Something cool happened. Last night I happened to find a person with the same last name as my family in the same area my family is from Turn's out he is my dad's half-brother that we have not seen or heard from in years.... So now I have a new uncle!!!! And he has a sister who is my dad's half sister who I don't remember! how did you find him ? Plus cousins... The funniest thing of all is that he and my dad both do the SAME things for a living!! Now you see why genealogy is so fascinating, Ghatten well Ghatten that is awesome news!! congratulations! My type is always white and it wiggles when I put it on. Hurts my eyes. I want it black I forgot and hit enter Please have your questions typed and ready to hit enter when it is your turn. we are now moderated hello amort do you have a question? In sec.2.2 Ideas Example 3 Oval Button..Items 1-5 ok in 6 when I go toselections /modify can not get yellow to do what it is suppost to. mort do you mean the linear gradient fill? yes leapin, I had the same problem, with linear gradient fill, it might be the inner oval is to small mort how small is your oval? when I made it larger it worked, but had to make the outer oval bigger too Yes. I followed exactly and it is heavier to the right. then switch back to fore and then try to modity in 6) and get lost from there. try contracting a little less I set mine at 20contracting mort try a smaller contract, eagel suggests 20 instead of 30 I set mine at 10 contracting 20 is what I used Ok book inst. say at 30 will back off. in window it shows the yellow but not on image. where is the yellow mort? also when I do this I get about a 1/2 in. line black and white dashes in middle of button and can't go anyfarther mort are the dashes moving? that could be your selection (too small) The yellow is in a window of the settings for paint fill to the far right Dashes are moving or blinking yes moving to right mort that is your selection very thin line 2mm most likely after you have contracted try what was suggested, contract much smaller, like 10 and try flood filling again Correct but will not fill out into inner oval as shown in inst. let me know how it works mort you will have to fill each section of the inner oval mine was filled in sections it didn't fill in all at once, like the first one did mort did you float the selection by mistake? look under selection and if float greyed out, pick defloat i give up. how did you do that last sample in week 1 assignment. the one with the two circles i had same problem and tried putting the tolerance higher and it worked to do the final button, the mystery one yes okay mort try to move the tolerance as well, maybe the color you picked it too close in hue to the blue bear to do that button..... I first made an oval shape oh - i was already wrong LOL and edit/copy the selection than I flood filled the first oval next was edit/paste and I moved the pasted selection horizonal and even with the first oval about 2 inches apart? there abouts I then flood filled the second oval selection at that point I picked the retouch tool put setting on smudge (my favourite) and set the brush setting about 15 opacity midrange hardness full and dragged in one shot strips across (to left first) to make the blue go into the yellow than strips across (to right) making yellow blend with blue done oh is that all! LOL Thanks! hehe :) i knew the smudge tool was in there somewhere someone else mentioned that the clone brush did well too I want to know how to get spacing to be *less* between two lines of text in a graphic. Like Good on one line and Morning on the second line. Must space between the good and morning words. much space between In typesetting we call it *leading!* roz the way I do this is... type the GOOD first and put it in the image than I do the MORNING and move it to where I want it * Otter does it that way too -- works very well!!! That's the way I *have been* doing it for over a year but thought there had to be an easier way that I did not know! Leapin you could also center and type in the font box, the word good on one line and morning on the next line, and it wills center both same size, only I have never checked roz, but maybe there is a setting under preferences Leapin> I doubt it but worth a look Buy there is too much space between the two words. If done in the font box. roz the other way could be... to type both lines do your editing and than select with with selection tool, the bottom line than move it into place I suppose that would be better to move up. Less centering and stuff to make it look even. roz maybe in the next edition jasc will look at putting a spacing setting in there I would hope so. It's stange to not have something to adjust! Thanks.... Leapin! np roz :) To get an image from inst to practice. I copy to foulder, drag to desk and drag back into psp image. Is there an easier way? mort what is inst? me? copy to folder/ open as image that would be the easiest or put in folder Your instructions in the course open psp and go to open find your folder then open as image I have my class folder set up open psp great mort just put the images in there open psp do file select browse you will get a thumbnail size picture of all compatable images in that folder when you see the one you want you can double click it to open it in psp or you can click it once to highlight it and than click open or you can drag it from the browser that is the way I do it but was wanting to go directly from inst to image in psp you mean take the pic from the instructions? rather than downloading the file? yes and have it appear in image with out all regarow inbetween guess that should be rig-a-ma-row Can't he save image as with each image and only have the images? mort I am afraid I am not understanding what it is you want to achieve the only way to get the picture is to download it to your class file mort then go to file open and locate your image and open it There is no way to take the example you see in the lessons directly to the PSP program Ok Thanks you have to save it somewhere first And Leapin has a Zip mort you could try this... for you to d/l with the other pics you need but no promises... right click the image in the browser and see if there is an option to open it I don't think so though nope leapin, only save image as..... or open with etc.. I thought so GW Nope, ya gotta save it first...:) maybe someone should write microsoft lol yes could open with but only if it is saved first how about resizing your browser and PSP so that they are side by side.....I do that sometimes w hen I am working with tutorials from the web mort, which browser are you using? Netscape on the bb, there are instructions as to how to save the lesson on netscape, communicator, and get the pictures too also one for ie but this will load all of the gifs, jpgs, and lesson in one spot Will check Thanks Missed that. I can't get my type to come out black. It is always white, and it jiggles. I have no idea what you used on those last two thingies. Mort it is rigamarole! you still have to open then in psp lol wwwdot thanks for the proper spelling of rigamarole wwwdot what color do you have set for your foreground in psp? I think it was black when I was trying to get black type what color was your background on the canvas? Is it supposed to be black and white dots that blink or move around? dots? or dashes? the type yes the running ants! yes when you place your type it will have the moving selection marquee around it when you type it and hold it over your button now if all you are getting is blank text here is what to do.. when you click the text tool Is a moving selection marquee black and white dots that move around and than type something in the text box before hitting ok I don't always get blank text It is always white when I get it I do that make sure floating is checked uh, oh to use the foreground colour you have selected yes if you want blank text do NOT check floating in the text box that is evidently my problem will try that blank meaning with no color like a hole? right eagle it will place a blank/empty shape of your text Oh that would be good for shiloetts the selection will show, but the inside is see through ok in the text lesson we will look at this feature much closer wwwdot is that the problem do you suppose? LOL That was my problem wwwdot also Floating and text too small to take the color good probably let me know wwwdot if it is not someone in the class had a corrupt psp download for Mort's question - in Internet Explorer you just right-click the pic you want in the lesson, click copy, then paste in psp. At least that's how I've been doing the lessons. and was seeing black/dark all the time jasc helped fix it thanks ISIS!! sorry, Mort left, but thought this might help I never did that before it will probably work in netscape as well Isis please post that to BB for him to see ok will do I always magnify things a lot when working with buttons...let's me see close up It does work in IE 4 like that--copy/past How important is changing monitor resolution? Last time I played with mine I had trouble, had to reboot and start in save mode, and had soooo much trouble getting back to normal paste that is a good idea ghatten kinkell it is a better viewing experience, but some cards and monitors cannot handle it do you have your monitor and card information manuals? they will say what the maximum settings are it is possible that you can set the resolution to let's say 800x600 but will have to keep the colors at 256 I should have but most of that is gobblede gook to me! mine is set at800 x600x16bp kinkell you might want to see if the brand name of card you have (should show under system devices in control panel) has upgrade drivers on the net oh ok will check that thanks 800x600 is all you really need anyway maybe the attempt to set it to true color was the problem ? try a lesser pick k but leave it at 800x600 just reduce the colors I think there is also a 16 true color but not sure about that 16 bit true color.....yes thanks that's what I have mine set for 800 x 600 16 bit color that is good too do you change yours blossom? the 800x600 makes psp tool palette display in full yes.....LOL.....ask Leapin i've changed mine back and forth when making images...... everyone, there is a nifty program you should all download ? it is from microsoft here let me get the url thank you Brad......yes,,,,,,,16 bit is High color.....not true color I also have been changing mine back and forth to be sure they look good in both resolutions http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/contents/PowerToys/W95QuickRes/default.asp doesn't mean they DO look good though LOL http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/contents/PowerToys/W95QuickRes/default.asp that url brings you to the microsoft quickres page true.....I also make a test web page and load it to see what it looks like.... this nifty FREE program allows you to change your monitor's resolution without rebooting I recommend you get it if you have either windows 95 or 98 and I also so a save copy as new image to quick check it in PSP sounds good! also this next program is fantastic.... let me get the url It works great Leapin -- I use it all the time!!! http://www.vasile.com/racecar/stampware/ this url leads you to the a program called.... stampware they ask if you use any of their products I can already chane resolution without rebooting? Didn't know that was ever a problem that you send them a stamp LOL change that is but the program you want is this one...... I can do that too eagle.... browserSizer who do you send a stamp? It makes stamps Oh never mind I will just go see for myself I have the racecar one. Works good. it tells you on the page eagel But I have used a program at work that worked like QuickRes... the programs BrowserSizer if not freeware or shareware, it is Stampware they just want you to send stamps if you keep the program it allows you to do a number of things.... BrowserSizer is a low-fat, NOT in-your-face tool to help www developers check to see how their web pages look on screen resolutions of 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, and WebTV. never heard of stampware it is nifty Oh I like the sounds of that one a nice twist on the donation ware idea since week 2 was about color and resolution, I figured it best to mention these programs another thing I wanted to mention is that in psp when dealing with transparent .gifs you do not see the actual effects of setting a transparent color until you load your image in a web browser unless you go to the color oops Colors menu and select View palette transparency that will let you see what color in your image has been made transparent you will see the checkered board it is a good way to see if there are any reminants of a slightly different color that you really wanted gone When doing a transparent text gif with *drop shadow* it seems to me that you have to have the background of the text gif the *same exact* color of the page or else... you get a white shadow around the shadow around the text. Am I doing something wrong here? roz no you are not doing anything wrong, in an upcoming lesson we will be looking at transparent drop shadows that will rid you of that problem the lesson on text, tubes, brushes and something else, I forget what it might have been miscellanious tips or something to that effect that will be week 4 right now what I do to get rid of it is to make sure the background color is exact or nearly exact or did I decide to make it a jpg and use the exact color and not gif. roz if you know the background colour of your web page make your canvas that color or if you use a pattern for the background of your web page fill the canvas with that background pattern prior to placing the text that is the fastest way and least confusing I think that that is what I did but I know on the page that I just finished, my Veterns Day page I got disgusted and made the background identical as the page background and then made it a jpg. I have a question, please? GW okay ? what is the difference between High color (16 bit) and High color (32 bit) wouldn't 16 bit show what less looks like? also why 800 x 600? when a lot of ppl view in 640 x 480 still? I always check my pages at 640 x 480 to see what they look like on the browsers for them but work in 800 x 600. sorry gw you should always check your graphics appearance at both resolutions IF.. you care about the people with the lesser monitors, or those who have not yet figured out how to change their monitor's resolution however for the most part, I browse the web in the higher resolution for my eyes the higher the resolution, the easier it is on your eyes plus you see things nicer the 16 high color is probably 35,000 colors * Otter agrees with Leapin -- old eyes get tired at 800x600!! LOL not sure on that though does that answer the question gw? okay thanks leapin someone just said 16 bit is 65k it was brad does anyone have any more questions? if so step up by putting an A in front of your nick type /nick A-yournicknamehere * Leapin says 2 free points to anyone who has not asked a question, but really wants to, and will Sorry, but I am getting a late start on the class and am just starting lesson 1 - where are the examples you show in the lessons located? lol did that make sense jimp there is not example file with lesson 1 if you want the pics, just right click in the browser, then save to a folder on your hard drive you have to make them along with the lessons if you download a .gif image remember to increase the color depth to 16 million colors in psp do this by 1) click Colors in the top menu 2) select Increase color depth 3) choose 16 million colors (24 bit) of course you image has to be open in psp first the second weeks lesson has a .zip file in it with images for you to practice on by the way, I saw some excellent assignment pages! Thanks. And apparently you can copy and paste an image directly to PSP by right clicking on copy and then paste as new image in PSP if you are using IE...you will still have to save the image at som epoint if you want to keep it. k jim Dont forget to get your urls to scotia@ns.sympatico.ca DE http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/scotia/psp/ for the psp assignments page and Diamond for the classmates listing page thanks for that reminder Ghatten, I can't wait to try it after class :) When I scan in a photo it's a .bmp - should I edit it as a .bmp or change to .psp format before saving as a .jpg? learn something new daily :) oriole good question..... first of all remember the discussion in week 2 lesson about lossless and lossy yes - I know not to save as .jpg until I'm all done editing... well .bmp is lossless so you can work and save without worrying about losing quality it is your personal choice what you like best .tif .psp or .bmp personally I use .psp only because I am using .psp that should read using PSP not .psp So it's okay to save the .bmp as .psp and then edit? yes oriole perfectly fine I have been editing mine as whatever they are loaded as then save as jpg. Never thought about changing it to anything else before I work on it the advantage to .bmp would be that you could load your masterpiece as your wallpaper on the desktop :) you can't do that with .psp format to my knowledge oriole does that answer your question okay? LOL. Also, does it make any difference whether I use "save as" or "save copy as" when I'm saving in a new format? yes very good question.... hard to explain, but here it is... With an image open in psp... if you click SAVE AS.. the image that is open will actually be saved as the name you assign to it in other words, the image open at the time gets named and it physically becomes that filename it also takes on the form of file you SAVE AS meaning, if you click SAVE AS.. and select .gif that image that is open becomes a .gif file on the other hand... the SAVE COPY AS.. feature works much differently it does NOT effect the open image in any way with an image open in psp if you select SAVE COPY AS.. you will still have to name the file (if it has not been named before) and pick a file format type psp will than make a copy of the open image but leave the actual open image untouched I like that for saving steps this is VERY handy if you are testing what the image will look like in different file formats or in different compression modes also it leaves you with your original image untouched As a rule of thumb I almost ALWAYS use SAVE COPY AS... And .bmp can be uploaded to our pages and .psp can't. Is that correct? it helps to avoid accidental wrong saves now you must keep in mind when using SAVE COPY AS.. that the image open does NOT change meaning the file size will always show the same after a save copy as you have to either open the image you saved in psp to see what it looks like Thanks, Leapin. Good explanation. or go to windows explorer oriole is that a hint to stop talking lol Do you have any comments on the difference between the Paint Brush and the AirBrush? And how dees Step work with the AirBrush? brad I find AirBrush harder to use, but that is me it seems to take more memory on my computer so I get clunky chunks I tried Save as... with a compression of 99 to see if it changed the image in PSP it did not. no matter what settings I use ??? brad Yes? good night all...see you Sunday compression of 99 with .psp file format? night ghatten lol sorry jpg oh okay, why would you do that out of curiousity? it would leave a terrible pic I was tring to find an easy way to compare quality of a saved image with the original. So it was just a test you mentioned you used Save as? Yes that would ruin your open image No so you could not compare because i made a duplicate first shift+D I see okay so why doesn't it work? but it did not change the appearence of the one on PSP I thought it would. :o( Are you trying to do what Leapin did in lessons with the ducks? Arent there examples of that in the lesson with the ducks. Or was that showing something else? It is great to make multiple saves at different compressions but it is time consuming to compare them all. brad it changes at normal compressions though most people don't compress at 99% too much image quality loss It does? I tried that to I would be sure to see the difference. it does for me to = so Hmmm. I only tried the one. well my machine has been known to do weird and wonderful things old clunker lol How do you compare them? lol I am trying it now again.... ok it did do it brad, here is what I did You can use 99 or 98 to put a low res image there to see while the high res loads. opened a .jpg that was named lions.jpg k used save as.. gave it a new name called blah k and again saved it as a .jpg with compression of 36% and? and? the titlebar changed to blah(1:1) OK but how did it look? I cant remember if the title changed or not but i suspect that it did not bad, it was only 36% the reason I picked 99 was so I could see the change to the file. hmm why would the titlebar change but not the image? try 95 Leapin that seems strange I will brad will let you know what I discover OK thanks maybe it is a bug in psp that you might want to let JASC know about so they can change it wait Is there a program or site that will compress *all* graphics on a site in *one shot?* roz I wish!! now there is a project for YOU!! :) Where is this compression setting that you are talking about? roz really though, to my knowledge there is not such a site I have only been to sites that do one at a time I suspect it would be hard to do several at a time, the results would likely be disasterous, mixing and matching different palettes between images There was one that I went to, can't remember the name now but it does gif and jpg all in the same shot... Then you pick what you want. roz yes I have been to that site or similar it gives you options of file formats Yes.. gif or jpg or both. but still only one pic at a time :(.. Yes... Leapin, where is the compression feature in PSP? roz brad just said you can use batch conversion to compress all files? I seem to remember though that there was a site that asked if you wanted to do an entire site. It may have been to rest links or something else though. what is batch conversation. in psp there is a batch conversion under the file menu give that a whirl and see if you can do more than one at a time I never use it myself hmm.. is that what you and brad were talking aobut before when you said about setting it to 36 and 99? oh wait, brad is not sure, but just wanted to bring to everyone's attention that it is there no roz that was normal compression here let me do a brief explain where is that? just incase people are confused roz when you save using certain types of file formats like .gif and .jpg (only ones this course discusses because we are dealing with web design) you can set different compression settings for instance open an image and than go SAVE AS.. now pick .gif as the file format type but before hitting the OK button ok click on the OPTIONS button in the save as window after you have selected .gif from the file type window ah ha! you will notice you have different choices for compression lol bad example it is not compression choices for .gif it is file types for .gif I was just going to say that! .gif89a for example roz I should have said open an image 16 million colors now choose save as.. and select .jpg from the file type menu now click the options button and you can set the % of compression low means less compression and high means more compression .psp format also allows you to pick different options including NO compression at all I see... does it really reduce the size of an image? split Leapin... may I plug my Veterans Day page... I did the graphics with PSP5? opps roz, we just split I see.... Wondered when that would happen. Took 2 hours. The server did not like my latest question! will hang on and hope it is a short split yes it did lol I like these sessions... I always come away with a little more knowledge. I went to PSP Usergroup last night and learned about paint brushes. may I suggest that we either join class again, by opening the mirc options box, and adding a new setting, called VU-alternate, and add irc.wiregrass.com to the server name, and go there? Have you tried the 5th power lessons roz? how did you get there roz? is the channel up? 5th power lessons are great roz My friend Susan got me in ICQ and said if I was planning to go ... and she gave me the address. They got a room on mIRC for a quick meeting. They are Sat afternoon and evening. I have the address in my servers if you want it. I am un moderating until the class gets back How do we join the others? thanks to set up mirc for the other webservers aw back There they come. #sosstudy url is http://www.vu.org I just wanted to ask! Leapin.. can I invite you all to my new Veterans Day page at http://members.xoom.com/web_lady/veteran/ I did the graphics with PSP5 and Eye Candy sure roz would be happy to check it out :) I designed the left border and banners and buttons. I am still fixing so there might be things that are not quite right, but on the whole it is the way it will look. We love to share here-and it looks great roz People have told me that it is slow loading so I am splitting the tables in smaller ones and may split the main link page into yet another page to make loading time less. Any comments or suggestions are very welcome and appreciated. roz you are not beginner lol nice very nice The default for saving .psp images seems to be something called "run length encoding". Should I resave all mine as "no compression"? no oriole Well I am self learning and getting tips. There is much that I don't know about PSP and designing but I hold my own in most cases. LZ77 is okay too it just takes more system resources but if you have an up to date computer you should be fine with .psp in LZ77 leapin for your information I found this in the PSP Book on working with batch compression leapin, in psp5 book chapter 2 page 31-32, it states you can use batch conversion with images in one folder, and gives instructions on the how to's!! Example says: if you want to change all .psp images to .gif format, place all those images you want to change into a folder and use batch conversion using "select all button", please understand this is a general idea, and you should read the book first, (as I also have not read it all or used this item thanks for the tip GW your welcome does it mention if it optimizes them as it converts? let me look I think that is what the main question was, if there is an optimizer that does more than one file at a time ok while she is looking okay ok no more questions comments or complaints(And there better not be any of these!)? Dont forget to get your urls to scotia@ns.sympatico.ca DE http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/scotia/psp/ for the psp assignments page and Diamond for the classmates listing page. I learned about composer last night in PSP usergroup. yes you can do that also roz roz I would save it in the folder where you have the lessons I have a vupsp folder I put in that way it will show on the lessons then to open it in psp, go to file, open, find your folder, and click on the image or use browse in that folder and see them all and then double click to open in psp I see.. I thought you could do a copy CTRL+C and then paste in PSP! Browse is wonderful.. use it all the time! not in netscape only ie Session Close: Fri Oct 23 19:30:51 1998
