The words object and controls will be used interchangeably. An object is something you will put on your form that the user will use.Command buttons, textboxes, etc. When you start VB you will see a tool box on the left of the screen. This contains all of the objects that are available for use.If you don't see this toolbox, you should click on View, Toolbox - I think Zonie> well that is the clearest I've seen it explained : ) VBTeach> The last actual programming you will do will be in the 7th week ....... We are going to go a lot slower and concentrate more on the concepts than programming. VBTeach> I have written lessons, besides reading assignments in the book. except lesson 2. No written lesson there. And based on questions I receive in here, I can modify those written lessons before they are posted! Zonie> what is the difference between 4 and 5, mostly bug fixes or ? VBTeach> The difference between 4 and 5 is that with 5 it has a different interface - not much, but still different. And with 5 you can program internet stuff more than with 4.I decided to go strictly with 4 because last term we were using the Control Creation Edition of VB5, and many students had problems installing it. Other students had Windows 3.1 and had to use an earlier verison of VB. VBTeach> Yes, the book is online. But you need the real book to have the working model of VB4. Zonie> didn't MS use to have a download of VB4 learning edition for free ? VBTeach> At one point, I think they did! But, I can't find it anymore! Yep, Everything you learn about vb4 can be applied to vb5.
