MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Marshlands Romance Writers is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Romance Writers of America, Incorporated, and at times shall be referred to MRW, or the chapter.
Mission Statement:
The purpose of Marshlands Romance Writers is to promote excellence in romantic fiction, to help writers become published and establish careers in their writing field and to provide continuing support for writers within the romance publishing industry.
Privileges of Membership - Marshlands Romance Writers::
Attend monthly chapter meetings, learn from educational programs presented at these meetings and have access to latest industry information that is forwarded to the chapter.
Sharing information in writing romantic fiction.
Opportunity to participate in MRW's annual fall writing retreat.
Networking with other romance writers, sharing experiences and support one another.

Opportunity to attend national and regional conferences.
Receive Romance Writer's Report - RWA's monthly journal of news, articles and market information for romance writers.
Opportunity to enter RWA's annual RITA/GOLDEN HEART contest - a contest for novels by both published and unpublished romance writers.
Professional Relations Committee - arbitrates and/or acts as advocate and/or ombudsperson for romance writing-related grievances or complaints filed by members, and answers questions and inquiries of RWA members regarding professional matters.
More than 150 chapters - many offering networking, newsletters, local workshops, conferences and contests to their and/or outside members.
Opportunity to purchase Information Materials - Golden Heart Handbook, Self-Promotion Handbook, Conference Hand-outs, etc.
RWA Hotline - Recorded message provides late-breaking news from publishers (when available) and RWA information (as necessary) to speed the flow of information to members.
Process for Membership in MRW:
You may attend 2 monthly meetings prior to membership.
In order to qualify for membership in Marshlands Romance Writers, you must first join the Romance Writers of America. Application forms for both the RWA and MRW are available from MRW's Vice-president, Joy Liddy.
Each year, renewal of membership in both RWA and MRW is required.
