A Lonely Star

The cold breeze makes me shiver
Yet I don’t go in
The increasing random raindrops
and clouds over the sky offer a warning
Yet I don’t go in
What do I have to fear from the rain?
Will it wash away the memories?
The fears?
The loneliness?
The dreams now ruined by her?
If only I were that lucky.

I curl up in this wet place in which I sit
With thoughts of re-attaining the love I once felt
A truer love in which to last

I look around and have a flashback of a moment with her
We were here and at that time I was so happy
But now I beg the memory to disappear
So I may be able to stay at this place as an escape

I look up and see the dark blue clouds that hide the night sky
Then find a spot where a lone star peers out at me
Its brightness shines through the light clouds
I wander if that special someone is staring at the same star

where now?
