To Lori

Why is it so hard for me to say
The things I really mean.
What I think isn’t so difficult
Yet visions of you constrict me.
Fears of failure,
Fears of rejection,
Deny me.

Dread not my maiden
‘Tis only your beauty that stutters me.
Such glow illuminates my apprehension.
But in your eyes I see
A splendor
that could carry me into the next world.

In my last vision of you
You were in sadness.
Seeing such dismay in you
Tore me apart.
My heart told me to run and hold you,
But something stopped me.
Something that I behold wicked now,
Because it held me from you

I give this to you now
In hopes of destroying that wickedness
And finally becoming closer to you

where now?
