Firstly, You should not get confused between the X-Files Album (The cover above) and the X-Files movie soundtrack. The album contains songs by various popular artists who were 'inspired' by the movie. The soundtrack is full of 'songs' with no words. These were used in the film but the songs on the album weren't.
Anyway, the album is a normal audio CD price and contains 15 tracks. I have the album and I'm glad I bought it. It doesn't really come down to if your a fan or not, but if you like the kind of music on the CD. There are famous popular artists such as The Foo Fighters, Bjork, Sting and The Dust Brothers. The first and last track is the X-Files theme changed and distorted. They sound quite good and make an affective beginning and ending. There are some really good songs on the album that will have you tapping your foot to. There is quite a selection of different types of pop-music. For instance, there's one 'heavy-rock' song and one 'Jamaican' style song. The rest are mainly songs that are just great to listen to. An added bonus, is after the last track where if you keep listening after a minute, it talks about how the syndicate came together and what's been happening. I think the album's great, but it depends on your taste in music. I've listed the tracks below, for you to have a look at.
