Zachary Smart is Agent 78. He is the only son of Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 and the twin brother of Maxine Smart. Like father, like son, Zach is a walking time bomb of disaster. He has been known to trip over any and every inanimate object possible, he has locked himself and others in various rooms, he has been known to walk into doors, windows, walls, chairs, poles, etc, he has continuously and repeatedly asked for the cone of silence(see cone of silence), which everyone knows NEVER works and probably never will. With his parents reputation and their slight disaproval of his chosen occupation, Zach does his best to make them proud of him. Even though he takes after his father, Zach has been known to come up with some very good ideas and plans. Not often, of course, but he does. He is one of CONTROL's top agents, beating every record his parents ever had. With his mother's hair, his mother's eyes, and his mother's smile, Zach is a very attractive man, with a charming personality. He's a big hit with the ladies at CONTROL and KAOS. But one thing he's inherited from his parents is this shyness and fear of a romantic interest. Zach is deeply in love with his partner, Agent 66, but can't bring himself to tell her straight out. So, he tries to surround himself with beautiful and gorgeous women to take his mind off of her, but despite his roving eye, Zach knows where his heart is. As with other siblings, Zach is in constant competition with his sister, Maxine. They each try to outdo the other for their parents attention. Though constanly fighting, deep down Zach couldn't ask for a better teammate, a better friend, or a better sister.
