Gloom, the newest in a line of highly anticipated releases from none other than Team Reaction. Sporting all new weapons, models, skins and sounds, This is basically a TC in disguise. Got your attention?...Good....read on... The Mod centers around an alien presence in which 2 teams are formed (1)"The Marines", and (2)"The Aliens". The object of the teamplay is to destroy the enemies spawn points. The Aliens have Spawn-Points resembling egg-sacs and the Marines have the standard Multiplayer spawn-pads. What makes this mod so unique is that each player gets to advance thru the ranks of the Class(team) they choose to join, either humans or aliens. You do so by gaining Frags, which are accumulative, and qualifies you to respawn(change) into the next higher class of either Human or Alien...each class has different abilities and does more damage as you increase in class. As an Alien, you may start out as either a Hatchling, or a Breeder. The Hatchling is one little bad ass, that can kill in 1 or 2 good hits in melee rounds. Or, You can start as a Breeder. It is responsible for laying new Spawn-points(egg-sacs), being ever so careful in their placement to prevent the Marines from finding and destroying these givers of life, as well as placing some brilliantly designed traps for that unlucky Marine who happens to walk by. The Aliens possess both offensive and defensive weapons which are superbly designed, and so lifelike, you actually feel as if you were one of these Arachnid creations.

As a Human you start out as a Marine grunt, or an Engineer. The Grunt, along with a very well designed and modeled array of new weapons has but one purpose, to eliminate all Alien presence in the base. Thereby gaining frags allowing him/her to advance to the next higher class. The Engineer is responsible for building new Marine Spawn-points, and also for laying out perimeter defenses such as auto-firing Turrets which he actually builds. You can progress all the way up to an almost invincible Mech unit that is hard to kill and is as bad as it looks. This Mod will undoubtedly take Teamplay to a level as yet unseen in Quake2 multiplayer...I'm an Avid Jailbreak fan and let me just say this...I am Impressed! Teamplay is a must in this Mod, and with the lack of the standard one-shot one-kill weapons such as the rail, egos and reputations will have to be put aside as the team strategy shifts from moment to moment. Defense, Offense, Repair and Rebuild, Nothing quite like Gloom has ever been developed for Quake2, and I doubt that any will approach this level of excitement.

Team Reaction once again pushes the envelope and establishes yet another Standard in uncharted territory with the Upcoming release of Gloom.
