Still, he was primarily a character actor. He studied for two years in the Berghof Studio in New York. Back in Tel Aviv, he got a day job in the mainstream Cameri Theater. Evenings he jammed in a nightclub with two singer friends: the popular Arik Einstein and the late Benny Amdursky. Eventually they began playing gigs as the Gesher Hayarkon Trio.
