Mind2

The room falls stagnant as the floor is opened
to Chaos.
Striding out into the middle of the room,
he opens his mouth to speak...
his words throw everything and everyone
into turmoil.
Madness descends to await his father's signal.
No one is left out, no one is spared.
Each one is pulled into the vortex of Chaos.
The big oak table flies around and around,
finally smashing itself into the far pillar.
Papers, notes, chairs... everything is swept
away in the furry.
Suddenly the balcony crumbles down to join
the growing wreckage on the floor.
--Who is able to calm Chaos?
Who knows how to dethrone the Father of all
and of none?
Who will step up to save us from spiralling
down into Madness?--
Peace crawls out from under the ruble that
was the balcony.
Climbing over the broken masonry,
she fixes her gaze on Chaos.
With her steps comes a calming breath.
Faith, as the only steadfast pressance
in the room, falls in behind her.
Reaching out to grasp Peace's hand,
Faith anchors them both.
Fighting her way towards the pair:
Hope turns into a bright speck of light.
Blossuming into a small sun as she joins
the other two.
Together the trio moves as one to face the
whirl wind in the center of the room.
Chaos' laughter rings out at the sight of them.
Cracking in responce to the terrible sound,
the foundation fragments.
As the sound fades, the trio begins to sing...
(their song, a litany against Madness.)
With Madness shrinking away....
Chaos just laughs again: crumbling the
remaining pillars to dust.
The song flows into the next and its
Chaos' turn to cringe.
Singing of: moonlit nights, quiet streams, sunlit forests,
warm spring breezes brushing your cheek, surf on a lone beach....
As the song was sung the room stilled.
The malstrom slowed and the
howling wind stopped.
Slowly everything settled to the
cracked and broken floor.
Papers and bits of furniture drift down.
When the song was at an end,
everyone came out of the nooks and crannies
where they were hid to see what had happened.
Looking to the center of the room they
saw the trio: Peace, Faith, and Hope.
They were standing in the midst of the wreckage.
But Chaos was gone.
