She walks out of the shadows

leaving me behind

joy is in her footsteps

happiness in her glide

she turns with parting smile

sunlight in her eyes

leaving me to sit alone

death my only guide

darkness reigns within me

but she no more can spare

she is a child of sunlight

her heart is free of sorrow

she knows not of my pain
