Benediction

Wild spirit sealed in sorrow
seprate from the life she made

Pain without her broken body
pain within her broken heart

Laying pressed by death's dark hand
rebelling 'gainst the body's ebb

Hearing cries her little one sends
she turns from life to seek the end

Mortal body cast aside
buried in the dust as stone

Savage reel of life, loosed free
spinning far from time's control

Traveling now through paths of shadow
listening for that bright faint cry

Comes upon a vale of sunbeams
'n dancing there, her life's pride

With joyful greeting her once-child
met not in life, but eternity

She sees now life instead of death
within this grand new liberty

Immortal bond stretched betwixt kin
strengthend now beyond death's door

Together unhindered they go a-searching
wide-eyed in the light of truth
