What does it really mean to tithe?

No, I'm not a pastor or a preacher of any kind. I just want you to be blessed as my wife and I have been.

It says in Malichai to "Test God". To the best of my knowlege, this is the only place where the Lord actually commands us to "Test Him" and show Himself to us. Yes, it is a comand. "Test me in this, "says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it". [NIV]

If you read it you'll find no question mark. So if you want to be blessed keep reading. If your afraid that He won't pull through for you, just look at what He's already done in your life and I know you'll keep reading...

He continues,"I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the Lord Almighty. "Then all nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the Lord Almighty.

"All nations will call you blessed". WOW!!!!!!!! What a statement. If you remember, this great country of our was founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ. That, and the fact that all founding fathers did tithe. Yes, they most certainly did! They weren't rich, and neither am I, but I look at where I was in 1995 and where the Lord has put me today...well....all I can say is Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!! for what you've done in my life.

If you think you don't have the money to spare, let me just say this, you cannot afford NOT to tithe. A tithe is only 10% and actually (I hate to burst your bubble) 100% of what you make belongs to God. That's right folks absolutely none of the money you make belongs to you!!!!! So will you rob God this week? How about next week? You know, you've been blessed to have the finances you have. You know "it is not by might, nor power but by MY spirit, "says the Lord. So what are you waiting for? Let me ask you this. Would you like a raise? If you're going to get a raise, you're going to ask your boss, right? Well just who is "The Boss of bosses"? Jesus!!!! Okay, that's not written in scripture. But who is "The King of Kings!"? Jesus!!!!!! There, does that put things in perspective for you? If you want a raise you need to ask the BIG GUY! You cannot sit on your blessed assurance every day and not tithe. Why place a limit on what God can do in your life? Blessings are not necessarily financial mind you. I'm not a millionare, nor do I want to be.

Example: My wife and I just had a beautiful baby girl. We've been trying for 3 years too. Yes we have tithed as a couple ever since we've been married. Last year the Lord layed it upon my heart to tithe on the gross! That's money I don't have! So I did, and we became pregnant only about a month later. Trust me folks...There is no greater blessing than a baby! I now know why the Lord gave us the ability to have children. It's for His Glory and not ours. My daughter truly is a blessing which money cannot buy. I Love you Jesus! More than words can say. I only wish that my life would be a pleasing sacrifice unto you Lord. Amen
