Snowballs

1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts
icing sugar

Cream butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy and then add the vanilla. Add dry ingredients (save icing sugar for later) and form dough into small balls. Bake at 325 for about 1/2 hour, remove from the oven and roll in icing sugar. Allow to cool and then roll again. These little snowballs look especially appealing when placed in tiny foil cups.

CHOCOLATE-COVERED BANANA POPS

Peel bananas; cut each into thirds. Insert wooden stick into each banana piece; place on wax-paper-covered tray. Cover; freeze until firm.

In microwave-safe container, place chocolate chips and shortening. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth when stirred.

Remove bananas from freezer just before dipping. Dip each piece into warm chocolate, covering completely; allow excess to drip off. Immediately roll in peanuts. Cover; return to freezer. Serve frozen. 9 pops.

VARIATION: HERSHEY'S Milk Chocolate Chips or HERSHEY'S MINI CHIPS Semi-Sweet Chocolate may be substituted for HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips.
