Here is one of just a few native Hawaiian endemic
fruits that can be enjoyed with some regularity
(if you're on the Halemau`u Trail in Haleakala Crater).
Genus Vaccinium includes blueberries and is a close
relative of cranberries. Berries can be found all year
but are best seen from June through December.
